I asked my dealer today if there was a way to have the 2012 BOSS 302S hood installed at the factory instead of the current design. He's checking on it.

Not gonna happen, but I applaud the effort.

 

Roush had a concept hood for either the 2010 or 2011 very similar to that of the Viper's but I was not able to find it. It looked great.

 

If not, you should be able to order it via Tiger Racing or Rehagen.

No, but if it were I would definitely use the 302S hood on the Boss.

 

I am fairly certain the hood would be purchased separately as opposed to installed on the production line. I can't imagine the manufacturing processes would take into account a change like that, unless it was offered as an option.

 

Basically, it could be an option like Recaros and Torsen.

The 302S hood is absolutely gorgeous.

 

As it is not in the order guide at this moment, I would doubt it, however, I am curious as to what your dealer person finds out.

From the factory? Not a chance.

Your dealer was just being nice by saying he'll check. It's not a valid option.

Now, IF it was available through Ford accessories or Ford Racing they might be able to get one painted and put on before you take delivery. But from the factory, no.

 

I thought I read the 302S was going to be assembled right on the stock assembly line. Unlike the 302R which is done at an outside contractor. If in fact it is made on the line it might be possible to get the hood on a 5.0 not likely but who knows.

In any case I am trying to get one from Rehagen but it's like talking to a wall.

 

I think OAC_Sparky, as a Ford employee, should have a pretty good idea!
