I'm sorry but I have a feeling both a standard and LS Boss would be faster on the same day with the same driver.

Sorry.....I'm not certain this was conducted on a level playing field...as it were. I have a hard time believing the LS would have been that far behind the portly Camaro. Not sure IRS would make that much difference. Something just doesn't add up.

I'm shocked if it did. The only discernable difference I can see is the bigger tire they threw on it. I didn't think the other upgrades would make a big impact. I'm waiting for a side by side test, but its interesting.

Could be just like the ZL1. GM does a bunch of hero runs and nobody can touch them with actual production cars.

I thought that too, but was trying to keep an open mind. Guess we'll have to wait for the magazines to compare them. I'd still like to see them compare a Track Pack GT to a 1LE and Boss to see where it falls.

The run is impressive no doubt. However, when Motortrend ran the ZL1 against the LS Boss it was 2.45 seconds faster. Different track but the same pro driver and conditions. No way the 1LE is four seconds faster and I doubt faster at all during the same kind of test.

I love reading Camaro5. They think they got a Boss 302 killer. There are going to be some sad owners come race day.

Roll bars racing seat and belts yupper that looking like a stock 1LE to me . Then there no way of know just what else was change on the car that not going to be on the car
when it at the dealer show room floor . Then you add a GM paid hot shoe to drive the car and not give a **** if he crashes it yupper that a real lap time you can count on .

Than to top it off they go look what Car & Driver lap times at VIR in the Boss 302 are only thing is the Boss was stock and the guy driving it was making sure it came back in one pieces.

I do think this I think the 1LE will be the best camaro GM going to make right now . Think it will end up being a better car than the ZL1 as a overall package with a motor that easy to mod.

I just don't see why this is so hard to believe. GM did extensive testing on the ZL1. They were getting smoked by the Boss before that. So instead of beefing up the "track ready" Boss, they put a big motor in the GT500. And got smoked again.

Two average guys on track.

Here's my prediction back in late 2009, a new 2010 Camaro SS was at Daytona, this track is a horsepower track lots of room to strech a cars top end. I was driving a 2006 Mustang GT with 300 HP to the new Camaro SS with 426 HP.

Watch this video here we go past the start finish, I just wasn't transported there...............we go through the infield and as we go back onto the banking the Camaro driver lets me by.................

The Camaro 1LE?

Same basic engine as back in 2009.

Better suspension tuning, yes.

Better/Bigger tires, yes.

Will I get by one? Unless the driver isn't better than me.......Yes I will........the GM video has a great driver driving at 10/10ths.

"For better comparison, the 1LE is 6.1 seconds behind the Camaro ZL1, 4.46 seconds ahead of the Boss 302 Laguna Seca, and within two seconds of serious handlers like the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Ariel Atom 3 and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG"

So that means the ZL1 is 10.56 seconds faster than a boss around VIR. Does anyone know what these guys are smoking? Cuz id definitely take a few lungfulls cuz that is some fantasy world

GM also said that the ZL1 cut a 1.6 60 ft time on the stock street tires. WHen people pointed out that there were pictures of the car at the track with drag radials, GM insisted that the 1.6 short times were on the stock tires and the DRs were just for testing and hooked no better.

I take anything they say with a grain of salt now.
