Went to NMCA Pomona Sunday. Met a guy in the parking lot when I was leaving with a really nice Mach 1.

Started talking about cars, (his, mine, the color), and started looking at it from different angles. He mentioned he noticed the pearl (or mica) didn't carry into the engine compartment. We checked the door jambs , but not under the trunk lid, and sure enough it's not there. The pearl stops just as the door jamb rolls into where the striker plate for the door latch is. Under the hood it's just a greenish yellow. Hmm, never noticed that before.

I'm the third owner of this car and it has been repainted at least once in its life. I can see a piece of dirt in the paint or something where the drivers side fender meets the hood at the gap.

Also, mine is a base GT, a friend mentioned that the base cars didn't get paint matched mirror caps...? Did the premium colors get it anyway or was this part of the previous repaint? Hmmmm again...
