X Plan question, need help before I sign....

Car is due on 11/9, but I stopped by yesterday to get the final price and now I have another glaring question.

Looking over all the charges I see "Advertising Assessment" listed at $550.00

Is the a Ford add on or is it a dealership thing with them digging deeper into my pocket?

And not to sound cynical, but why am I paying for advertising for a car I have not seen any ads for yet??

Is a Ford add on. I believe most if not all manufacturers have this charge.

I tried that Google thing and it seems to be the normal. I'd feel better about it if I had seen some cool commercials like we got to see when the '05 came out! I guess with the huge fan club they have, they don't need to advertise.

I never had that charge...maybe they're throwing whatever they can onto the invoice since there's demand for it.

This was added when I bought the 2011 so is not just a 2015 thing. The dealer may lower the price to offset the cost but and the end every body pays for it. If I read correctly Honda includes the advertising cost in the price of the vehicle which seems a more friendly way to do this kind of thing.

It's not listed at all on my invoice, I didn't pay for it directly.

I had it and paid it. I seen to recall finding it in the Ford X plan documents as well.

Also interesting note, kinda OT but if you use X plan your name is on the window sticker.
