Will there be a 2015 Shelby GT500?

IMO Ford perhaps should do a tribute model with the Shelby nameplate, get it out of their system, and call it a day. So far the GT500 has been all SVT regardless of what some want to believe so as long as performance is the priority calling the top Mustang 'COBRA' or 'SVT' would be naming it what it really is and the money not spent on royalties could be passed to the Mustang enthusiasts who loyally keep supporting Ford.
Perhaps Ford could even express a littler gratitude for our continuous support by sending each customer the SVT certificate without charging such a ridiculous fee.

How much do you think the royalty paid to Shelby really is?
I'm a fan of both Shelby and SVT Cobras but I find it hard to believe that the price would go down dramatically if it was called an SVT Cobra instead.

Honestly, if Ford wants to continue with internal tuning this is the perfect opportunity to scoop up some names with a meaningful performance and racing history and dump the well intentioned but vapid SVT and FPV monikers altogether. Bring the Cosworth name back into the Ford fold, buy the Shelby American brand, and instantly possess what it will take fifty years to manage with SVT or FPV if they're lucky. The Ford family has made it pretty clear that Shelby was/is considered family anyway, the above makes sure that his legacy is protected and will forever remain connected to Ford, and it gives Ford the best possible pair of names for an internal tuning arm that you could possibly hope for.

Fast forward to 2000 and the agreement with the Steve McQueen estate and/or Warner Brothers for the '01 Bullitt. The Bullitt's royalty fee was rumored to be around $500 which is a lot more than Pontiac's but a lot less than what Carroll Shelby would command. Taking that into account as well as Ford's original prediction of the '07 GT500's base price to be under $40K, my figure is an estimate not a fact. I doubt Shelby would accept a couple of hundred for the name plate on each GT500 to allow Ford and its dealers to make a killing while he got peanuts. Besides, Shelby's signature on merchandise and cars was not free or cheap for that matter.
With the interest of classic cars and values at its peak and the demand for the '05 and '06 Mustang, Shelby and Amy Boylan knew they had a winning hand.

The more $$$ they make, the more that can trickle into the Carroll Shelby Foundation. Go for the Kids!!!

Shelby would put his name on anything. Ever seen the stupid zmax commercials...or the s box Dodges that bore his name? I think the new Shelby tampons and breakfast cereal should be out soon

It could be due to a promise he allegedly made after becoming a transplant recipient to provide generous donations to his children's foundation from proceeds of products baring his name which he kept to the tune of a whooping two cents on the dollar. But to answer your question, no, his were all legal endeavors.
