Personally I'd rather pay more for a much better product.
there were expensive rattle buckets too... and today theres some 15 k well built cars out there too...still think a base v8 should be in the 25 range- if so, maybe they wouldnt have to throw rebates/incentives on the hood as often to move them.

just think if they kept the old 4.6 (still being built for export in the Romeo plant according to a couple guys at the auto show) available as a cheap/decent V8, it could sell in a budget V8 pkg... the 4.6 was a decent running, SWEET sounding V8, more than enough for most folks...think the market is still there for a basic v8 fun car

America has become the land of throw away.. With everything these days, no more appliance repair etc.. The same for cars. Even at the higher price people lease a econo-box "Toaster with Wheels" from Korea or Japan and get new every few years. There are less true drivers out there and fewer drivers cars. I have my wife keep the 4 door 40mpg car to run to the store and haul my kid around. If I am going to spend any time in a car its one to be driven... Will Mustang ever sell the numbers it did in the early day is more than likely not due to what was said for its time is was the every man/woman car. One thing that has held true it is still the most modified car on the market. People don't change their Camaro's, Vettes, Challengers and definitely not their econo-boxes the way we change up our Mustangs. Also not to mention there is not as may flavors of other cars as there is a Mustang. Shelby, Roush, Saleen, SVT etc... If the trend continues we can be rest assured the Mustang will be around for a long time to come as hopefully our children learn and appreciate the appeal of these cars.
