I'd like to see them dump the current red lineup and reformulate them. Also, a true royal blue metallic, like Aurora Blue (Mazda) or Ultrasonic Blue (Lexus) would be great:

For red, get something with a metallic content in it, but not like Red Candy. Reminds me too much of Toreador Red from the late 90s. Personally, I'd like to see the color choices go forward instead of being retro.

I'm for a True Candy Apple RED with a Gold Metal flake or even a Gold Base under it. I did that trick on a 57 Corvette model way back and it looked great.

Hate to bring up Corvette but the new 2012 Carisle Blue (light) and Superonic Blue (Medium) are sweet!

There was a Ford color I painted one of my cars with that looked really nice and I also got a kick out of the name they gave it ... Medium light dark blue! It actually changed under different lighting conditions! If I remember correctly, it was a 1974 color. Very sharp!

Talking

I would like to see Ford alternate some special colors every couple of months. Ford could always offer their basic blue, red, black, and white colors, but offer a choice of pink, lavender, orange, light green, and purple every two months. That way, we would have more of a choice in color each model year.

Question

Bronze would be a really nice color to offer. Bronze always looks so rich on a car. Has Ford ever offered brown as a color choice for Mustangs ?

Yes in '66 they had a caramel metallic and in the mid '70's they offered a dark taffey brown that was like a bronze metallic. Both were just so-so.

Ford did that back in the mid '50's. In '56, they came out with their "spring promotion" colors on the Fairlane and Crown-Vics, like pink/white and light baby blue/ white as limited edition 2 tones. Back when I was a kid, a neighbor had a '56 Ford convertable that was yellow/black 2 tone, black top and yellow/black roll'n tuck leather interior! That car was drop-dead gorgeous!

I had a 1983 Mercury Capri RS (the Mercury version of the Mustang GT) and it was a nice metallic brown. I don't know the color name, but I think they also had that color for the Mustang.

I was talking to some guys about colors and I think if Ford (or any manufact) were to offer an upgrade option, say you pay $XXX to get any color in the Ford catalog or $XXX + extra to get a custom color. That way they wouldnt "lose" money on making weird colors that dont sell, you pay up and get a color you want, win win.

How much would you guys pay extra to get the 1st level existing catalog color and then for the 2nd level totally custom???????????????????

Titanium Frost and/or Metallic/Pearl White would be colors I would want on the 2015+ models.

I prefer better looking base colors that accents car to colors like bright greens, yellows, reds, or blues. All those colors are great, but if I have to live with it, no way.
