I'd like to see a pearl silver and something similar to what GM uses on the CTS-V Black Diamond edition:
I think going with more metallic/tri-coat finishes and fewer "simple" paints (non-metallic) will make the car look more modern.

I wish our 3 newer ones were this shade of blue- it really pops in the sun, dont look so dark at night...I'd give vista a 8~9 on my favorite color scale, but acapulco blue metallic would definitely be my '10' yardstick to measure against. I'm not certain, but think Atlantic blue was just about the exact same shade?

that's not bad but it needs a little something. Red pin stripes and a black metal flake rally stripes flanked by red pins.

mines not a mach1, but I sure loved the black on blue...this poor things been sitting since 1984 in my garage awaiting restoration and the 429 from my first car- a 69 galaxie...time flies
