Under the hood of the 2015 (Photo Gallery)

Excerpt:

Until now we’ve only seen Ford’s 3D images and cutaways of the revised Coyote engine, in fact, Ford has yet to lift the hood on any 2015 Mustang for the press or the public. Today, through an unnamed source, we were able to secure two photos from under the hood of a 2015 Mustang GT. Although this car is a test prototype, in Triple Yellow, and likely the same one that we saw this week at the Detroit Auto Show, it’s wearing pretty close to production garb in terms of the engine covers. This prevents us from discerning much on the mechanical side, but there are a few things worth noting....

hopefully this isn't the "final" production version as that reservoir sticks out like a sore thumb.

and that engine cover just doesn't seem to be a complete product.

It's exactly like the engine cover looked on the slide from the reveal on the 5th of Dec.
Minus the 5.0 in the square area.

It was stated elsewhere that Ford didn't want the hoods popped, as it's not "production ready" under there. However, I wouldn't expect there to be much different, just perhaps a little tidier.

Apparently, some of the other cars weren't fully painted under the hood.

That reservoir looks like a gallon milk jug strapped to the core support.

Unhappy

I am not a fan of engine covers. In the interest of weight reduction, I would think the engine cover would be the first to be eliminated.

The coolant reservoir sticks out way too much! Sore thumb! Hoping that is not final production.

Finally a new picture of the Mustang that I like!

The silly sound tube thing should have some interior switch that turns it off or on!

The 'strut tower brace' looks like the one used on a 2010+ Taurus.

The 06 was a nice size and was over the intake only.

Not that this is bad looking, its just a bit boring.
Would be nice if this is pre-production and the real deal had a least a running pony or 5.0 badge.

Strange that they only brace one strut and leave the other alone.

Look closer.

Brighten up the image, it's there.

this is exactly why ford didn't want underhood shots, pre-production mess.

Doesnt really look much better than the mule under hood photo. that one almost looked cleaner

How can you tell it's a different intake manifold? Looks like just a new cover.

I presume he is just pointing out what has been printed. Different intake for use with the newly added CMCV.
