Too Early Out of the Gates?

Yeah, I think Ford's early release has resulted in a big loss of momentum and buzz. They'll try to recapture that with actual drives, road tests and the 50th AR and GT350, but in the end, they'll be trying to reignite the intro flame that has pretty much died to a smolder, something that never should have happened.
For the general public, the early release of information a) made them aware this is a big year for Mustang, and b) there is a redesigned car to celebrate it. After all of the actual drives and road tests, assuming the production schedule starts in August as communicated through forums like these, then those folks will jump on a shiny new Mustang.
This is a long, lead marketing strategy, and as was shared back in the Dearborn reveal in December, Ford is trying to generate more social media buzz. For the general public, this is probably more cost effective than trying to have everything ready for one big, bang release of information. Plus, it is not unlike there won't be big things now going on next week that will put things on the radar again.
Based on anecdotal observations, the membership on the Mustang6g forums continues to grow, attracting people who are non-Mustang owners introducing themselves and talking about the S550 excitedly, based on what's been released already.
