Is this clutch different than others? Pushing the clutch in all the way In between shifts sounds tiresome.

I think it would be cool (and a nice safety feature) if it would automatically go into snow/wet mode when the rain-sensing wipers sensed rain.

Able to be overridden, of course.

It seems like every owners manual I've ever read has said to fully depress the clutch when shifting.

Gotta do a cost analysis; tiresome vs. clutch longevity

Well at least on my factory clutch it was an issue, I to barely press the clutch in when I shift, especially when I've got the go pedal bending sheet metal in the floor pan.

Anyways barely depressing the clutch pedal in between shifts killed the clutch in 20k.

I get so much smoother shifts when I only press it in 1/3 the way though. That's the point that it fully disengages/engages. When I push the clutch all the way in, I get the clunks and lurching...

Seems odd when your depressing the clutch all the way and fully disengaging???

When the stock clutch came out of my car the primary (??? I guess that's what you would call the flywheel side disc) was in perfect shape but the secondary disc (its primary - floater - secondary on the GT500 clutch) was worn out from not fully disengaging the clutch when shifting.

I've been running a McLeod RXT since then and no problems with it at almost 81k on the clock.

The stocker was a pretty good piece but it was more or less an on/off switch and not much else where the McLeod is able to take the abuse of only partially disengaging the pedal and changing gears.

That would be cool. Even better will be if it stays in the snow/wet mode through a power cycle. I understand that the legal team is most likely going to make it go from Sport and Track back to normal when you restart the car. But if I set it to snow/wet and run in to a store for 10 minutes, most likely when I come back out I will still want it to be in snow/wet.
