Indeed, but thats also a tough market to play in. If your going the affordable route, you've got beat the Corvette in price, quality and performance and if your dabbling at the other end then its all Nissan GT-R this and 911 Turbo that with the same price, quality, and performance expectations.
Personally, I'd love to see a regular Production GT(40) but it seems the only truly successful sports cars in america are front engined rear wheel drive or rear engined rear wheel drive. Mid engined cars here except for super exotics just dont seem to make it (Bertone X19, MR2, Fiero, et al)

--->edit<--- Mattor-o'-fact, I wouldnt even mind it being a parts bin car, say if the next gen Mustang were to use the control blade IRS and virtual pivot front suspension, I'd be happy using those parts for the suspension adpated to a mid engined chassis.
