S550?! Please step inside.
So, I'm reading from different forums that the S550 Mustang is not as "raw" as the previous models, or should I say, is more "refined". Do you find this to be true?
I'm not taking about adding power adders on or any of that jazz, which I would anyways. I'm taking about the car itself in stock form and the way it drives.
I appreciate any input. Thanks!

There are a lot of bad roads where I live and one of the things I find amazing with my S550 is how composed it is over these roads. There is no banging, creaks or rattles, the IRS is very stable when pushing the car in rough corners. After 30k miles the car is just as tight as the day I got it.
Going down the road the car is smooth, quiet and comfortable. I have a premium and the interior looks very upscale and has held up perfectly.
I purchased an Ecoboost and I am satisfied with the power and very happy with the mileage, around town I get 27-30 mpg and on the hiway i get 31-33 mpg. I am a hot rod derived at heart and don't leave any of my cars alone. There are already 1000s of products available to bump the performance and change the looks
If I sound design like a fan boy, I am. I smile everytime I look at it and get a bigger smile when I drive it.

I had a '14 V6 and traded it for a '15 GT. The interior alone is night and day. The ride is definitely smoother as well. If I want it to feel raw, I just smash the pedal. One major complaint against the S550 was the lack of exhaust note. Once I did that, I am now happy as can be!

The ride, handling and steering are definitely a step up from the S197 and the interior is a much more special place, made with nicer materials.
I agree the muted exhaust may make it seem a little less raw, but that's what the aftermarket it for.
Try one for yourself. I think it treads the perfect line between GT/sports car/muscle car.
I have one in a heartbeat.
I'm hoping this means there'll by another Mustang in your garage, once the green machine is gone?

Any notions of the s550 not being as "raw" are trash. Throw some Longtubes and your choice of catback, and the s550 will be every bit as "raw" as any other car. The interior still has minor rattles. The suspension is still under damped from the factory. It's still a Mustang, just one that has a better ride and composure over bumps than any ever made.
Funny, I had my s550 cherry popped driving my buddy's GT350. He only had 500mi on it when he tossed me the keys. I absolutely abhorred the clutch in that thing. Everything else was amazing. I cannot believe the sound of that engine/exhaust setup. The shifter was nice, but I'd still do an MGW on it. He said Steeda already has a clutch spring out for those cars. The clutch felt like an on/off switch, devoid of any feel whatsoever and about 1/4" of take up, so I found myself lurching away from every stop. I can't believe they released that clutch to production.

Awesome posts everyone. I really do appreciate everyone's feedback. Thank you. Yes, I agree with the interior of the S550 cars are very nice! They blow the doors off all the previous years cars, in my opinion.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I agree. The S550 feels a lot more subdued compared to the S197.
I have increasingly more modified S197, and thanks to close friends who work at Ford I've had a chance to drive quite a few S550s. Ugh, what a slouch. Every time I drive one I can't wait to get into my own car.
Is the S550 more comfortable? Sure. Is it more refined? Yes.
Did I get a Mustang for either one of those 2 qualities? **** no! Even my friends who work for Ford prefer to drive my car then their M-Plate S550s.
Disapointing. They feel heavy, fat and slower than my car. And I have no power mods. Just suspension and brakes.
Edit: This goes for the GT and GT PP. The GT350 is a different animal.

The Tr 6060 trans shifts easily and smoothly. A great car!
My GT is a bit more fun to drive with the auto,3.55.It now sounds good with
the Flowmaster Outlaws. I also dont worry about it as much. It cost about 1/2 what the Shelby did.

I have both and dont find my S550 better than my GT500. The Shelby interior, sound and that extra 227 hp,all add to the experience. I also love the suspension.
