Quick Question
The roof line of the Mondeo 4 door and 5 door are identical...
How would you like the choice of a hatch and coupe on the next Mustang...Europe likes hatches and the US likes coupes (trunks or for Twin Turbo...Boots)
Pontiac gave customers that option back in 1974 with the GTO...

Whilst hatchbacks are very popular in the UK, I'd take a booted (thanks TN ) coupe anyday. I know times have moved on and structural rigidity is much better in most cars, but my old 300zx put me off a bit. The huge rear hatch on that was prone to squeaks and rattles and I swear I could feel it move under hard cornering!

I'd be very interested in a hatchback. The Mustang is the only sporty two-door car that Ford currently offers, so why not offer it in a couple of body styles?

I love hatchbacks, but to me the Mustang should be a coupe. Well, I love hatchbacks' utility, but I hate the louder road noise and squeaks/rattles that come with them. I DO like the cabin gain my sub gets though

I'd love a well engineered hatchback, and yes, they can be light, sleek, quiet and rigid -- my old Ford Probe GT were all those things. Properly done, I see know real downside to a hatchback.
