I think that it would be awesome for Ford to expand the color palette for the Mustang. I think the problem is, finding the right buyers for some of the rarer colors. With most Mustangs being purchased from dealer stock, it's easier to sell something in a blander color than it is for some of the wilder colors, like a Burnt Orange Metallic or a Ultra Violet. I think those should be available as special order, and be available to those who go in to actually place an order for their specific car.
The other ride in the family is a 2008 Dodge Nitro R/T in Sunburst Orange metallic. When I see it parked next to my Mustang, I often think that it would be an awesome color for a repaint. Maybe someday.

I personally don't get Ford's color selection GM and Chrysler seem to always offer bright yellows, orange and purple ...
I knew someone who painted his 1996 Cobra burnt orange and it looked amazing!

Those of us who like dramatic colours are in the minority. I had a custom order BMW cabriolet in Orange I loved. And later a light blue metallic 3 series coupe I thought was more conservative, but when it came time to sell them I was stuck for a buyer. Dealers wouldn't even take then on trade because they aren't black or silver. What a burning world.

I agree, a purple Mustang would be great again! The purple offered back in 1996 was a variation of the Wild Orchid from the Probe, which I had....that color was stunning, I used to always get compliments about it and everyone thought it was custom! It was like a Hot Wheels color, and truely made the car unique. (mine was a 1994 Probe GT Wild Orchid Feature car, so the color was unique and limited that year then spread to all '95's then Mustang, although to my eye the Mustang was a shade darker and not quite as nice)

Oddly enough the local dealer I goto told me that the wacky bright green/yellow colors normally move pretty quickly when it comes to Mustangs.
I love the orange color that was on the first gen Edges...I wish you could get on a Fiesta or Focus...would look sharp on those cars.
