Parts Supplier leaking 2015 information... ?
As long as it's a Mustang, I'll end up falling in love....there isn't a model out that I don't like in some way....of course I like some more than others, but the Mustang is and always will be a Legend!
A car can be made less expensive without appearing to be cheap. Ford could offer a V8 powered Mustang with no air conditioning and no center console. They could have some inexpensive trim piece to secure the shifter boot to the floor.Maybe they could get a bench seat from the Ranger pickup and thus replace the bucket seats. Who knows how many more Mustangs Ford could sell with some unique features that could appeal to younger buyers. When I bought my LX Mustangs, I wanted a GT but could just not afford to get a GT that I was only going to drive in the Summer and Fall in Minnesota. With the millions of people in America, there should be at least 20000 who would purchase an inexpensive V8 Mustang.
This comment was just added in regards to 2015 and the 'parts supplier'. In terms this photo (Evos). Stating the EVOS isn't a good comparison.

The only styling detail that the concept and the photo renderings (published in some of the magazines) have in common with the approved design are the fender flares and roof line.
The actual car will be more 99-04 with a little Audi S5; Aston Martin; 370Z than the EVOS concept.
No need to worry--the average dude will know it's a Mustang..

That's encouraging! I like the sound of that.
The previous post above regarding specific design elements has some validity. The EVOS concept and new Fusion front ends are a strong influence on the new stang. It will be significantly more muscular and leaner than the current version. The hips are more pronounced giving it a bit of an hour glass shape in between the wheel wells and it sounds like traces of the current traditional dna will remain in the new version
. I have not seen any images, but the this info is from a real deal source.
Also was told that there are NO sketches or renderings floating today that are even close to being as good as the current design they have locked in. Look for it to be rolled out April 2014, likley to be a game changer and will be the best version ever.

This is apprently the closest any auto magazine has come. I have to double check the source but here it is

The response from this image was that the 2015, aka S550 internally inside Ford has much less in common than we think of these very EVOS based chops...it looks much better than any of them. So the whole complete EVOS theme is off base even though other sources are saying these type of images are the closest yet.
As usually happens, we'll probably all have a good laugh when we look at these renderings after the 2015 is finally revealed. It probably won't be until the camoed test cars start appearing that we start getting a more definitive idea of what the thing will actually look like. Right now we are basically just working on hear-say...
While not ugly those inside line shots dont really scream "Mustang" to me. I just hope the redesign is not too Euro, I understand Ford wants the Mustang to be a more global model but its popularity overseas comes in part from its design. Either way I'm excited to see where it goes and glad I bought a 2012 rather then wait for this.

The problem I see is that the Mustang is no longer considered a working class or young persons performance car so Ford is chasing after middle to upper income earners and in doing so they are building in attributes those buyers are looking for (ie; BMW dynamics with AUDI build quality) in an attempt to win them over. Its admirable but that stuff does not come without cost and in a crowded segment they cannot spread these costs over alot of volume.
The current Mustang has evolved beyond that point. The V6 is the only one that is affordable by most. It's been brought up in the past that the success of the current Mustang has a lot to do with V6 sales.
Now, the current day 'working class' cars are the hatchbacks. And even they are well into their 'lifecycle' and are pricing upwards year after year with more and more performance variants being created similar to the Mustang's evolution.
I'm interested to see how the FRS and BRZ do. With rumors that Nissan is looking to get into that game we may see the next 'working class' fun car become the Miata / FRS / BRZ / Nissan offering.
Well even the Focus Titanium tops out way beyond what I consider "working class" prices at $28,000.
