Next Gen GT500 Engine

I Have No Life
Knowing how Ford is sometimes, it seems likely. Money pinching would probably make them take the 5.0, and just install a TT (or even a S/C) and call it the GT500. Granted it would still be extremely fast and powerful, the only difference it would have would be it being blown. I really don't see that happening since they've been trying to hard these last few years to make everyone notice the GT500 as an entirely higher class of vehicle.
I remember reading Wescoent on GMI mentioning that its a free for all right now wrt Ford engine buildings. They aren't bound and limited to choking their engines to not outdo another.
THey are ENCOURAGED to try to. (ie: not choking a 3.5L EcoBoost so that it doesnt' encroach on the 5L)
If they DID have a 5L TT ... it wouldn't be the coyote with turbo's just slapped on. Believe me.

3) None of the above
I would not buy a S/C car. I would certainly not buy a turbo car.
I just want a 5.0L (or 5.4L ) N/A Mustang that I can go flog at a race track.
The three most famous Mustangs of all-time had no power adder (except the driver):

Im ready for another streetable R car. Like the 2000 Cobra R. Let's see one of those again Ford.
And I know about the announced 2010 Boss 302R, but that's not what I'm talking about. I want to see a street legal R car. Like the 1993, 1995, and 2000 models.

The problem with the R cars is that Ford only made a few (107, 250, and 300). That made them rare, and many guys just put them in a garage. Ford needs to make an R-like car and place a nice 5.0L or 5.4L engine in it. Keep it lightweight and put the GT500 brakes on it. Price it below $40K, and sell all of them that people want (which keeps the collector guys at bay).

5.0 TT, or better yet, a bigger version of it w TT. That would make it more "exotic" to put a word to describe it. Although an "R" version for the masses would certainly get my attention.

The old LX cars were less than a GT but had the same engine. They were still more than a 4-cylinder Mustang.

I bought a few LX cars. I paid $11K for this car. It was a good car.
Nonetheless, the stripped down cars are not that profitable for Ford. The new gas mileage regulations make these cars even less unlikely.
You guys just need to stop being so cheap and pay up for a 2011 Mustang 5.0L. I'd pay $35K in a heartbeat.

No problemo if salaries had kept pace with costs. The problem is if you look at that '89 and what a steal it was at $11k (I paid 16K for my '86 but it was almost impossible to get and had an aftermarket sunroof) vrs at the potential of a '10 at 35k, that is a 318% increase in 20 years. I know I certainly haven't increased my wages 318% in that same time frame.

I can not control salaries although I make a little more than I did in 1989.
This old 1989 car won a few races in its day. Here is one (and I ain't the fat guy on the left ). I'd be the guy holding the trophy.
I've now owned 17 Mustangs. This is the exact car that I posted with the window sticker, and one of my favorites.
You can blame many things for the high increase of car prices, but that needs to go into a different thread. Nonetheless, we live in 2009. Things have changed.

All I'm trying to illustrate is that the average Mustang buyer's salaries haven't increased at a rate comparable to the cost increase of the cars. Its just not as easy to upgrade them as it used to be. I'm salavating over what the '11 sounds like but I'm in no position to even think about getting one.
