Reason I'd prefer a remade 5.4 TT is because the new engine would be different (hopefully lighter) than the current, and also be different from the new 5.0. Just slapping a TT on the 5.0 though, anyone can do that, doesn't make it special enough for Shelby.

?
You think a TT5L would just be 'a couple of turbo's slapped on a 5L' ?

5.0 TT. The 5.4 SC has served long and well, but time to look and move forwards. While a touch smaller in displacement, I suspect the qualitative design aspects of the 5.0 will more than make up for that and will be more than special enough for the GT500 badge.

I actually think a TT 5.0 would be better. Time to move on from the Romeo 5.4. She did great, but I think a TT 5.0 would be better and save some gas mileage too. Plus I'm hoping it would save some of the piggish weight.

I always thought it would be and apt and poetic goal for the company that brought an affordable V8 to the masses - the famous Flathead - to bring an affordable V12 to the engines bays of the working man.

Knowing how Ford is sometimes, it seems likely. Money pinching would probably make them take the 5.0, and just install a TT (or even a S/C) and call it the GT500. Granted it would still be extremely fast and powerful, the only difference it would have would be it being blown. I really don't see that happening since they've been trying to hard these last few years to make everyone notice the GT500 as an entirely higher class of vehicle.
