New Mustang Hit With Recall
Ford is recalling roughly 1,900 of the Mustangs in North America due to safety concerns that some restraint parts could have been damaged during shipping.

The GT I ordered way back on July 26 was hit with this recall and has been sitting in a rail yard in Benicia, CA, since Oct 11. I backed out of the deal and got my deposit back because seriously, they'll have to take seats out to fix. No way!!

I'm furious as my dates changed three times and I'm entering the tenth week since I ordered. I'm on the fence right now as to pull my deposit and back out or stay the course. Having read a fix might be a couple weeks later I'm starting to lean more to backing out. Seriously disappointed knowing by time I get the car I'll have to put all seasons directly on it before I leave the lot since it will be below 45 around the time it would arrive.

Good luck guys!

I'll have to make a trip of over 400 miles in a couple weeks to Las Vegas, but a GT like the one I initially ordered is due in to one of the dealers down there. I have a hold on it, no deposit required and a much better deal than I got up here in Carson City. Interesting to note is that new cars don't arrive in LV by rail, but rather Convoy (car hauler). The wait continues...................

Why are you freaking out because of seat removal? They did put the seats in the car, didnt they?

I'm not freaking out but I'm definitely taking notes of what to check with a bit more care. There are other people who have seats scuffed or sides scratched simply from delivery. Also for a while ford had the problem with oil stained stitching. Just certainly a bit of extra to eye ball for.

I wish I had your faith in mankind sir! There is no possible way that those seats will be installed to factory fresh! The techs who will be doing this job will be under the gun to get the job done ASAP and I can almost guarantee that they have never done this before, whereas the people at the factory do this kind of thing on a daily basis. I'm an old retired guy and the GT I eventually end up with will be a recreational toy that will never see so much as a rain drop, fair weather activity only. So, it must be factory fresh and perfect or else I'll move on to something else.

Faith in Man kind paid off. They inspected without rebuilding the car and my restraints were fine. Showed up last night and I pick her up this evening around 3pm eastern. So there is a chance that when they look at the restraints, your build wasn't actually affected and they didn't have to do any extra work.
