Perhaps this is a preproduction car?

Looks fine to me... Not too concerned about reservoir tank either. Look, there is some dust on the intake tube... Oh, the horror!

A strut tower brace is not an option I guess?

Good point.

Look at the bolts where a brace would be attached...they're not long enough.

Also, what are those long bolts on the l/s strut tower? There don't seem to be similar bolts on the passenger side.

In regards to the strut tower brace issue... looking on the port side of the engine bay (can't call it driver's side anymore, right?!) you can see what appears to be two studs sticking out of the shock tower. And you can see that the nuts that are used on the *three* (no longer four) studs of the strut mounts are rather tall. So a shorter nut might be possible with an appropriately thin yet strong brace plate mount on those, but I'm more inclined to want to use those long studs instead.

Then you get to the starboard side of the bay, and... how ya gonna mount that brace? I mean... there's.. *stuff*... all in the way. Be a bit of a trick, I'd say. Not, of course, insurmountable, but still.

But do notice that there is *something* mounted on a similar set of long studs on that side, that then goes up beside the battery area. Perhaps a shield of some sort. So... that's probably where the best best for a brace is for mounting.

Still... all that crap in the way... Yeah, that's gonna be a fun engineering project, the starboard side of things. What a mess.

Hm... perhaps a '64-70 export brace system? That might work pretty well. Example: http://www.cjponyparts.com/export-br...FVJo7Aod4nQA3Q

Although, I can't tell where you'd put it on the firewall. And/or if it'll miss other stuff on the way between... And it might be that two braces, versus one, might need to be done...

Then again, seems there's still a brace goin' across the bays even with those, so..

---

You know, in looking at it a second time, it appears to me that the coil covers are the same, just the top is changed.

So a quick swap (and perhaps modification by dremel here and there?) of the '11-14 top cover is very doable, looks like to me.

And would be done if I had the problem of getting a '15. Which I won't. Because not only is the engine bay hideous overall, but that front end needs work.

Ford, what the hell? I mean, really?

/Yeah, right, THATs why I wouldn't...

Battery box is covered and on passenger side firewall

The Battery is tight against the firewall on the passenger side. Looks nice but wait until you have to lift it out for replacement. There seems to be a strut
partially covering it.

Agree it can look like a plate of spaghetti for all I care! If she runs then woo hoo!!! Don't get me wrong it could look better but I'll take the performance first! :-)

The gt performance pack comes standard with both a strut tower brace and a k brace to the firewall

That's interesting. Do you have any pictures? I wonder how they get that in.

Ah. I see I was right about those studs. Cool.

And it's not near the fitment problem I thought it'd be. Very nice!

Still gettin' the other cover though. It's not even expensive.

I don't get why they designed a cover for the battery area but not the brake fluid reservoir area...

not sure if you have seen the engine bay in person or profile but the reservoir actually sits lower than the top of the engine, in photos from above especially with cell phones the aspect kinda enlarges it and give it alot more prominence than it has in real life.

i agree a darker color or cover might have looked a bit a bit better, but personally i would prefer it be more functional with a quick glance. i dont typically drive with the hood open so i dont really care that much

those that show their cars will find that a darker colored aftermarket solution will probably blend right out of view when modding the bay for better appearance

just my thoughts...

I haven't seen it in person yet. At least in pics, it looks silly to me that they designed a cover only for one side. It looks unfinished.
