I've got an 07 GT auto but if I had my way I'd have a stick shift, that said I'm old school and have driven stick shifts for decades on the other hand my son who also drives the car can't drive stick and refuses to let me teach him. I installed a TCI Street Fight Ratching Shifter which allows me to still have some shifting fun and allows for my son to still drive the car.
I've also had manual shift until getting old . My truck is a 5 speed manual but I only put 500-1200 miles per year on it. Bad left leg with nerve damage . The automatics are faster and from what I've read, they are faster in automatic mode, than shifting yourself. Several test have been done. I did a test using a G-Tech to time me, I was faster letting the transmission shift its self

Love my manual in my '14. Even though the newer automatics are quicker shifters than I am, I still like the feel of shifting myself.
Hello everyone. Iam purchasing a 2015 Mustang GT very soon. I need to know if i should go with a automatic or a manual...... I know manuals are fun and is the cool thing, but i do alot of traffic driving and never really had a manual car. Also which is faster and which can be modded more?
My GT is a 5 speed manual as I enjoy shifting, and live in a rural area with many 'twisties' in the mountains. On the other hand, I rarely take the GT into Atlanta due to traffic and constant clutch use.

Welcome aboard and what year is your Mustang? Like yourself, I also enjoy rowing my own gears and will do whatever it takes at all costs to avoid driving in congested areas due to heavy traffic that require frequent clutch usage...
It's funny I looked at this 7 year old thread and my original post (post #2) was almost a foreboding of what was to come. From manual to automatic, but due to health, not traffic.
