IMO, base '15 GT MSRP will be about $34K to $35K. Premium GT MSRP will be in the high $30's ($38K to $39K). Throw in some options and $45K is probably right for a very well equipped GT.

I value your insights and judgment, but I hope you are sincerely wrong And I mean that with the utmost respect for you!

I seriously would no longer look at a new Mustang GT at $38-$39K.

Well I have been sick about losing that car ever since and now the 15' has me foaming at the mouth.

What sucks the most is being $5k upside down on the Focus right now, grrrr..

Well just had to vent.
wait 5 years and buy a nice used one

X2. I'm planning on mid $30's. any higher and I'm getting the Honda Accord coupe lookalike.

How much of a markup was there from the last generation mustang to the 2005 mustang? That precedent might guide us going forward.

Three to five over sticker is what we saw here on the site.

The 2014 base GT is $30K & change. IMO if Ford adds more than $2K to the base price it could hurt sales. So $32K for base GT & $35K for Premium would be my guess.

Too much of a price hike could have me & others looking at other options.

I don't think the price will be inflated by the dealers at the start of 2015MY.

Did you mean the rise in base price from a 2004 to 2005 model? According to MSN Autos, the Original Retail Price (MSRP) for a base GT Premium Coupe was $24,845. In the price guides I have which were from Ford, the base 2005 GT Premium model's MSRP was $26,125. These don't include delivery fees.

The 2014 GT Premium MSRP is $35,310. So while I hope Five Oh Brian's estimates were wrong, he is likely close.

Deal is for standard & GT Mustangs only. We'll likely be closer to MSRP on the GT350's (it's far too early for us to have specific pricing set yet on them). However, for reference, we do have a brand new '14 Shelby GT500 on our showroom floor right now for $2K below MSRP (click here to view).

That's just my guess for MSRP. After dealer discounts and rebates, figure on saving a few grand. 2014 GT Premium Coupe MSRP is $36,135 ($35,310 + $825 D&D) with no options, so $38K isn't much of a bump for a 2015 with the added content and inflation.

Even if a fully loaded Must. GT is $45k before discounts it still would be a bargain. You want.to play you got to pay.

Exactly why I remain in denial of your estimates, which as I posted above, I think are probably close I have a "line in the sand" price for a daily driver car ($36K), which is this one would be. Looking at trim/option packaging between the base and premium GTs will be a key consideration for me on this car.

Thanks for your perspective, and again, what you say is something I do believe is highly likely to be the case, based on your experience. Appreciate it, Brian!

My 08 was the last new car I will ever buy, I'm glad I was never planning to sell it because I would take a beating even a week after rolling off the lot.

So much more cost effective to buy great shape used car.
If I ever fall in love with another mustang, I would definitely go used.
Waiting a year could save you thousands.

Plus I'd never buy the first year of a new model car, always bugs to work out...

This is my plan too. Just a year or two of depreciation will make these Mustangs easily affordable. Then add a good detailing and you are like-new.

I have no regrets about getting the '06 new. But the next time around I will let someone else take the "off the lot" hit.

It made me laugh! I did see leather and the big screen in the center stack which would indicate nav. I will probably find myself going to a different dealership for the 15. Does anyone have a clue as to what the MSRP of 15 is?
Sticker price on a GT Premium with Auto, Nav and Comfort package is $39,320. So it doesn't sound like they are way out of line with the pricing.

Here's some perspective. The MSRP of my (almost completely) fully loaded 2014 SIX-cylinder is $37,849.00. So, the numbers floated by FIVEOHBRIEN sound pretty fair to me for an EIGHT-cylinder!

That's crazy expensive. My premium '13 GT with a couple options cost less.

Yeah! I just came across a base DIB 2014 GT at a dealership about 15 miles from me for 29k. I'm really tempted :-)
