On a mission to figure out how I am going to afford a 2015 GT!!!

I was the proud owner of a 2011 Kona Blue 5.0 for 2 years until December of 2012 the wife said I needed to trade it in to save us money (which she denies telling me). So I reluctantly traded it in and got a Focus SE hatchback

Well I have been sick about losing that car ever since and now the 15' has me foaming at the mouth.

What sucks the most is being $5k upside down on the Focus right now, grrrr..

Well just had to vent.

What sucks too is the mark up that's going to be on the 15's. Gotta pay to play!

I doubt there will be much markup, maybe msrp for the earliest orders probably within a few hundred of invoice by sept/oct

Not sure why you traded in the Stang and got yourself a smaller New car payment.

If things were at such dire straights, it would of been better for you to find a sufficiently priced used car until your financial house is in order.


I'll be looking for a GT stang in 16... the only thing thats deterring me is having a car payment.

No car payments = for my bank account

I understand but my 05 was nothing but great to me other than the molestation of mods I did to it. It will be differnt this time around! Gonna leave it mostly stock other than some rims and exhaust :-) The 15 that is :-)

The S-197 had fairly trouble free launch, hopefully the S550 will as well. In retrospect I think my biggest peeve with the 05-09 cars is the padded vinyl panel insert in the door and its tendency to delaminate over time.


If only Ford would have folded the material over in some fashion or stitched the edges in some fashion.

+1. Many dealers will have reasonable pricing. The dealership I work for will be ordering '15 Mustangs for just $500 over the factory invoice total when ordering begins next month. Sure, some dealers will try for MSRP (or higher) initially, but actual transaction prices after negotiating should be closer to invoice than MSRP at most dealers, I believe.

500 over sounds pretty fair for orders before the car hits lots

It's quality dealers that charge reasonable prices that ruin it for the gougers who want to take advantage of customers

Well that's good to know because the dealership local to me is one of those that likes to raise the prices. Was just in there last week and they were asking 39k for a 14GT, I'm not fully aware of all the options that come with the 14"s but by looking at it had no brembo brakes and basic wheels so I guess that would mean no track pack. It made me laugh! I did see leather and the big screen in the center stack which would indicate nav. I will probably find myself going to a different dealership for the 15. Does anyone have a clue as to what the MSRP of 15 is?

After seeing how the 05s launched I would bet lunch that over half the dealers will charge ADMs. All it takes is one customer to pay it and then the rest will follow suit. People on this very site paid 3000, sometimes 5000 over sticker back then.

You'll see modest loaded GTs selling for $45k.

True. And judging from current prices, we'll be seeing $45k mid-level Premium GT MSRPs anyways...
