Lincoln will get a coupe built on the same platform for long term cost saving (GM will build the Camaro and CTS on the same platform/Dodge builds the 300/Charger/Challenger on the same tweaked chassis)Materials will become more upscale
in the use of alcantara/cloth/leather. Brembos/Recaros become standard GT items. In the
mean time look for leather Recaros on the GT500 and 2013 brings BOSS 302 with 1970 style stripe
and one heritage color (Supposedly Grabber Green but could by Lime).

Sounds intriguing... only 540HP for the TT5.0? would like a bit more but i cant wait to see that torque curve if it looks anything like the ecoboost V6 it will be a monster.

Not a big deal about the 440hp BOSS engine in the Base GT. I hope there is more to it than just that. Does not take much to make this engine 440 flywheel with basic mods.

This lines up with what I had hopped to see for future Mustangs. I think I am dead set on the Competition Orange BOSS though. I think the GT should have more upgrades as listed but I may not get another BOSS!

 

For love of all that is holy......please don't ever say "hugger orange" and mustang in the same sentence. It's a chevy color.

I'm more excited about the technology and styling Ford will be bringing to the Mustang redesign. Take a look at the tech in the new Taurus then look at what the Mustang has. The Mustang is archaic in comparison - heck even the $12,000 Fiesta has Push Button Start! Ok ok, I know the Mustang won't get everything that the Taurus has, after all, it's a pony car not a luxury sedan. However, I still think Ford is going to go big with the 50th anniversary redesign. As for styling, everyone knows there are many cues that folks do not desire. The mutton chops, diaper, tail lights, trunk lid, antennas, etc. I have grown to love them but they can still be improved upon. I can't wait to see how Ford is going to address these areas. Not to mention we are still on the S197 Platform from MY2005.

Honestly, is this how spoiled people are getting with the recent Mustang powerplants?

Do people realize how much horsepower that is: 540?! If I were a Ford person reading quotes like this, it would make me wonder what I'd have to do to satisfy people. By 2020 people are going to be complaining that the top of the line Mustang won't have 750HP, the GT won't have 600HP and the "lowly" base model won't have 425HP. This is getting a little ridiculous in what people expect in terms of power in their cars. Remember folks, as awesome as the Mustang is, it's not a supercar.

Your right dude. Remember when the new engine was announced and people were like as long it has 350. Then it was as long as it has 400. Now they get 400 and they want more. You have people running out the same week they get the car and get a tune and CAI just to gain that extra 30hp.
Enough will never be enough to some.

 

True.....but the current GT500 pumps out 550bhp and if the blown Coyote is to replace that car, it'd be a blow to the bragging rights (and that's pretty much all they are) if it wasn't to top that
