Just ordered a 2020 GT, any advice on how I long it will take?

Hello, so I pre ordered a 2020 gt mustang, with the premium pack, performance pack, and 10 speed automatic. Was wondering if any has ordered around July for a new mustang and could give me a time frame?

Could be 6 to 8 weeks or it could be 3 months. Unfortunately it depends on when they schedule the next run of auto PP1 cars.

I ordered my GT on July 10th, 2018 and picked it up on Sept 23, 2018. I was lucky as my dealer was actually putting their allotment orders in that day so I didn't have to wait for the next round of orders to come up to get mine added in.

Did you have the automatic with performance pack too?

It looks like production for the 2020 Mustang is mid to late August.
Congrats on the new Mustang! Awesome car!

8 to 12 weeks was the standard answer for my last ( 3 ) ordered vehicles.
They showed up in:
47 days
112 days
79 days

With a car that will likely have markup from the dealership, what do they do with pre-orders? Do they tell you up front what it will cost. Always wondered about that with pre-orders.

When you order a car, the price is discussed & agreed to, in writing, & you sign paperwork..

Exactly. For me the dealer even took extra $1k off after we signed the paperwork because 8 to 12 weeks turned into 4 months.

Took 16 weeks for my 2019 Mustang Convert and 17 weeks for my 2019 Ranger. Ford is slow!

My ordered BMW took exactly 12 weeks and it came from Germany!!

We went over the price when I put in my order. The only thing left open was incentives due to the fact that since the car was being ordered they technically couldn't be applied until the purchase was actually completed. Still, my dealer noted on my paperwork what incentives were available at the time and stated, IN WRITING, that whatever offer was better would be used at the time of sale, either the offer when my order was placed OR when we signed the purchase paperwork. I put down a $1K deposit to get the ball rolling and about 10 weeks later I picked up my ride. Fast forward 5 months and I get a check for $1K from the dealership. Apparently, we forgot to apply my deposit to the purchase so they cut me a check and gave me my deposit back. I focused so much on getting the down payment, trade-in, monthly payment and incentives right I completely looked over the deposit. My bad.
