I can't believe Ford bought it back and is replacing it with a 350R, since it was modded.

Another one?! Maybe the differential coolers are having some issues since this is the second one that looks like it started at the rear.

I read this on mustang6g.com.
I'm glad that no one was injured in this as well. Like Lee stated above, I cannot believe that Ford is replacing this car with a brand new GT350R, especially knowing that it had modifications. But, they are! Good for the owner.

I did't read this as Ford giving him a new 2017 GT350R. I read it as they bought back his burned out GT350 and he is replacing it with a GT350R. I've been wrong before though (just ask my wife).

I bet Ford wanted his burned car to investigate it and see if this was a freak accident or a potential design flaw that they need to fix before more Shelbys go up in flames.

There is something strange going on with thee cars. I was at my local race track there was a 2016 there racing. It was a .5 second slower than my 2014 gt track car. Time after time he was consistently slower.

Were you up against a '16 GT or GT350? Your '14 is faster than a '16 GT. However, if you were beating a GT350, I'd chalk it up to you being a better driver.

I will agree with that. There have been others that have had engine troubles. But, it is a first year engine, so that is expected. The same for the Hellcat's debut.
