Well that was underwhelming.

In 0-60 and 1/4 the '13 Boss is supposed to be 0.1s and 0.1s respectively behind the M2. The S550 on the other hand got blown out by a mile. Can't wait for 18/19 redesign though.

Which is faster? This is the classic question, and the ultimate fallacy of judging superiority. Here we have the S550 Mustang GT with 415 bhp (England gets less power), and weighing 3,772 pounds as it lines up against the new BMW M2 with 365 bhp, and weighing 3,351 lbs. Both cars report a top speed of 155 mph, but who clinches the win?

I’m very sure you have already clicked “play” to watch the video below before reading this, so you already know that despite the Mustang’s having more horsepower, the M2 takes the win.

But did it really win? Yes, the BMW is faster with less horsepower on that half-mile race, but it costs a little over 10 grand more than the Mustang. You can do a lot with $10k. If your ultimate goal is to go fast, you can easily build that engine using that $10k, and surpass any of the cars BMW currently has in its lineup.

If you ask me which would I choose, I would pick the Mustang over the BMW M2, just based on the price point alone. At the end, the loser is the real winner.

Check your #s, I'm pretty sure that you have the power ratings listed wrong for both vehicles...

This is a bit silly ... the Mustang GT and BMW M2 are completely different cars. Sure, you can compare them in one area or another, but why? I have a 2016 Mustang GT and a BMW E46 M3 (the M2 is the only BMW in the last 10 years that I would consider as a replacement for my M3). One is an M3, there other is a Mustang GT. They both have 4 wheels, two doors, disk brakes all around and 6 speed transmissions; the rest is pretty different.

I think you have a good point. And to think just a few years back Mustang GT vs M3 was a legitimate comparison.

Since then BMW lost it's soul, and Mustang lost the rough edges which made it a true Stallion. I suppose it sacrificed feel for numbness and involvement for lap times.

but you will never have a BMW. There is a reason that US manufacturers (e.g., Cadillac) and Japanese manufacturers (pick any one) try to build cars that are more "like German cars), but the converse is never true.
