GENUINE FORD ACCESSORY Keyless Entry Keypad

Has anyone added the keypad to a 2016 Mustang GT with push button start? The instructions say cycle the key 8 times, I don't have a key. Thanks for any help.

Where exactly are these instructions? I have a key that is used if power to the automatic door locks fails if that's the key you are referring to.

I finally got an answer, you cycle the push button starter 7 times and on the 8th you stop at on and your locks will cycle and then you hit lock on the remote keypad and all key fobs and they will then be linked to your car.

I just can't watch this confusion any more.

For clarity:

Ford sells an accessory 5 key keypad that you mount to the car. Said keypad is operable to unlock the car like an alarm fob but is permanently attached to the vehicle and secured with a programmable code.

Ford has been selling the same keypad for several years with cross-vehicle compatibility. In order to get the keypad paired with the keyless entry system in prior vehicles, you would cycle the key on and off several times during the process.

Ford never updated the instructions for cars that don't come with a physical key. So OP wanted to know what to cycle in place of the key in order to pair the keypad with the vehicle. The answer is the start button, presumably without depressing the brake so the car doesn't start.

Sound right OP?

Does the stick on keypad actually work with the 2015+ Mustang? I had one on a 13 V6 AND a 14 GT - I liked it...

Ftiech, Do you have a link to the Keypad you installed? Was looking on Ford Parts site but could not find one.

I know this post is older but no one ever posted this. The keypad works with probably any Ford car that has a keyfob.

For cars with physical keys in the ignition the instructions are correct, for cars with push to start you just press the button 7x instead (not pushing on the break), ending in on. So 1 time on, 1 time off counts as 1.

I am trying to program for a 2018 with remote start. I have the KB3Z-14A626-B. I did the cycle 7x but locks do not seem to put in a program mode. Was this changed for 18’s?

I'm Starting To Question if That is Correct For Your Mustang. Two Different Online Ford Parts Catalogs Say it is Not.

I Will Check Some More. Accessory Cataloging Can Be Elusive.

Tasca Parts Catalog Says No!

Hey I really appreciate it. I have a buddy that works at ford and passing info along to him to see if one of his techs can figure it out. I’m just surprised there isn’t more info out there on it. I run trails and don’t want to have my phone or keys with me, and it would be nice to be able to lock the doors with keys and all inside like I can with my 13 f-150, but keypad came standard and just had to add it and turn on in forscan

You Are Welcome!

35+ Years I Worked Ford Parts & Info Has To Be Be Dragged & Cross Checked Many Times Just To Get an Answer. It Does Not Help That Online Sellers Will Say One Part Fits All in Many Cases To Make Things Worse. Ebay is Notorious For That! On top of That FORD is Not Always Correct Either.
