I 'think' the EB4 will be the best handling Mustang ever made, from the factory. Just my opinion

I really want to try the EcoBoost and see if it is fun.

Before buying my 2014 Mustang V6 I took the Hyundai genesis coupe 2.0T for a spin. It had nice torque off the bat, but ran out of steam higher up the rev range. I really enjoy revving the crap out of the V6 with a wee bit of noise (yeah I know it is no V8 ).

For me the question is, nice early peaky power or V8 roar.

Depends on what car you come from... If you have a v8 mustang now you will most likely want the v8 later lol plus you're used to the gas milage.

I came from a focus st to a 14 Gt and there is definite gas milage regret for a daily driver, where the EB would be much better in that category and still quick and a great handler. That said I'm keeping my V8 lol that probably explains it right there

Will the EB be that much better on gas? The F-150 EB vs V8 doesn't show enough difference for me looking at online figures and websites.

I guess time will tell.

thats 3.5L turbo v6 vs 5.0 v8. Much different than 2.3 vs 5.0. If you're asking will it get better mileage than the 5.0, of course it will. Comparing mileage to the 3.7 might be much closer.

The difference will be mostly insignificant in real world driving, the EB only weighs about 200 lbs less than the GT but has a higher gear ratio. The MPG numbers that will be printed on the window stickers are usually the best you can get. Driving normal (for a Mustang) there probably won't be more than a 2 mpg difference between the two

.....lolwut. The EB will do WAY better than 2mpg difference, all other variables the same. Agreed that the sticker is (usually) the upper range of what you could see, but if you're driving the two cars similarly the 4 banger will return better mileage no question (more that 2mpg)

How did you come up with this information?

If mpg is about the same between the ecoboost and V8 then why the hell did Ford make the ecoboost. Sounds ridiculous. No one knows anything yet.

Who said they were the same? Of course it'll be better but not by that much.
Anyone who thinks they're gonna buy a 3500 lbs turbo charged car and get honda civic gas mileage is out of their mind. besides we don't even know what mileage they're claiming yet..

That would be cool if they offered the flex fuel on the V8. Where it would switch to 4 cyclinders on the freeway or what not.

It is terrible. If you've heard a Dodge with exhaust, it is NOT worth the mpg savings. It sounds like garbage.

I don't even mind 4-cylinder cars with exhaust, like say a RSX or Subie, as long as it's a good exhaust. But running half a V8 through 2.5-3" piping and chambered mufflers does not sound good at all.

^ This exactly. I had a Charger and ended up putting the stock exhaust back on cause it was so bad. Also I'm not sure how much fuel it really saves because that was by far the worst mileage I ever got with any car. I was lucky if I saw it go above 16mpg, it made the Mustang seem like a Prius

Lol my buddy gets around 18-20. He just got the Stainless Works catback on though and said when the Eco mod kicks in, it still sounds good - said it's basically stock quiet, which is a good testament to SW's R&D I guess...

Yeah you could easily drop $1400 if you want a good system.
The car actually got very good highway mileage, prob from the MDS.. but I drive 95% street so it didn't help

I suspect the Ecoboost will get real-world MPG numbers that align fairly close to the current V6 numbers, maybe a little better in city driving situations.
