Now that I have a 2014 GT500, I can sit back and enjoy all the new info and speculation about the 2015 Mustang. I am liking what I have been seeing about the 2015 Mustang. If the new Mustang is so much better than the current Mustang, I would probably buy one. If the 2015 Mustang does not impress me, I will still be very happy with my 2014 GT500. Now I just sit back and relax and enjoy.

 

paddles appear to be about the same location on steering wheel and distance from levers as my S4... there is more room than you think i think they will be ok as placed

 

Liking the updates...can't wait to see more of the exterior..

 

My loan is up in 2015, I hope they make the new body just as nice as the current so I will want to trade into one.

Paddle shifters do nothing for me, I can't see driving a mustang in a auto.

 

Some people have to drive autos. Many choose to and it's what keeps the mustang in production. If it weren't for the V6 fuel efficiency, there would be no V8

 

Hey, I agree. A friend has a bad knee from a accident and can't drive stick anymore, I just said for ME I wouldn't buy a V6 auto or V8 auto.

Partially true. But my previous model suffered from a tight backseat, vs the sedan. Certainly building them on the sane chassis helps. But packaging is packaging.

 

You know if the auto tranny is done right the paddle shifters still work very well. Go drive a new F30 BMW 335i with the 8 spd. sport auto (don't offer the DCT in the 335i) and you will be impressed on how it bang shifts almost as quick as the DCT and downshifts crisply and very quick. Not to mention it automatically blips the throttle for you on downshifts.

Don't knock autos too much..they work just fine for some serious HP and can make the driving experience very fun

 

Yes they do and actually shift quicker than a manual.

 

I never saw what the big deal was. There can be arguments about the 'technology' and all, but it really comes down to a personal subjective preference. I am just one of those people who prefer a manual... autos are fine for people who like autos, and can have competitive advantage...

I look forward to seeing the finished interior of the car. I suspect that all of these 'features' will be in it, but the exact layout and actuating hardware may be a bit different...

 

Some automatics are much better than a standard transmission in terms of competitive purposes. Several people I know of will run an auto transmission for their 1/4 mile runs.

 

As long as they have Sirius and Sync standard for even the base model, they can keep the same interior as the 2014 for all I care. Chevy puts Sirius standard on the Camaro and probably all their cars (not 100% sure) yet I spend $30K and don't get it. My $20K focus had Sirius and that was nearly 5 years ago. It's the one thing about Ford that makes me just madder than hell, probably because I have nothing else to b**** at about their vehicles. Seriously, Ford. Quit cutting that corner.

 

You didn't get it for free. Besides, Sirius isn't that good.

 

I disagree, I love having Sirius.

And no, it's not free, except the trial, but it at least has the antenna built in. Ford's taking the cheap way out. Have you tried installing a factory sat radio on a Mustang? It's just not worth the hassle and it's something that the competition is doing on cheaper cars by default. No excuses.

 

I really like that center stack...

Definitely has an plane cockpit sort of feel to it, but it doesn't look overly complicated. I also really like the shape of it, especially compared to the current car.

Not crazy on push-to-start (i like to turn keys ) oh well. This interior is sick. I even like the way the rear seats look.

 

First, the paddle shifters. I have them on my 2013 SHO. When you put the trans in Sport mode, it will shift itself or you can use the paddles. Sport mode is unbelievable.
I just drove through the Pig Tails, in the Black Hills a week ago. Using the paddles which are attached to the wheel rivals anything you can do with a stick. Upshifts and downshifts are instantaneous. Before you condemn, drive one. This is only my second auto in 45 years of driving. I am certain the Mustang will be tuned the same way, with a performance map. Also, don't underestimate the 3.5L Twin Turbo. It was designed to compete with a 7L V8. They have a lot of horsepower left in it. Tunes are already available to boost the current 365 hp. And. hopefully, they will have the My Ford Touch. This is also way above SYNC. You can control everything by voice, if you want to. I have been using it for 11 months, and really enjoy it. It is not as complicated as the magazines lead people to believe. With traffic the way it is today, sticks are not for everyone, and if you want an auto, this one is the way to go. Hopefully, it will see it's way to the Mustang with the 3.5L boosted to 400hp, and sold as the mid level entry,with the current 6 in the base car.

 

I would be all for paddle shift automatics. Automatics can be fun to drive and paddle shifters would be a great change of pace. Carol Shelby even put an automatic in one of his Cobras.
