Oh...and offer the tarnished colour from the Fusion Sport on some good looking mustang wheels.
My parents picked up a Sport last week and I think they look really good in person.
That car....might make me trade in my Mustang. It's THAT fun and loaded.
(In Canada, the only options are colour)

The current V6 in the Mustang doesn't look to be long for this world.
They aren't helping it by keeping it with the lowest options and cheapest car they have. Great for someone who just wants to get into a Mustang.
I'd love to see that engine at some point in the Mustang. (2.7 TT V6)
The 2.3 was fun, but the 2.7 V6 would give it some nice torque and throw you back in the seat.
They'd have to give the GT some more oomph(torque) for that to even be an option.
My personal 'totally awesome lineup' would be as follows:
- 2.7 V6 from the Sport (325hp/380)
- 5L V8 (475hp/450)
- 5L-6L S/C V8 (747hp) ...this whole thing with over 800 is a pipedream I think. And not required. Nothing like the SHRILL of a S/C. Although the sounds of the Voodoo is from another world.
I wish you could get that engine in a GT for the sound alone.
Even if they made it 4.5-5L.
I'll probably never be able to afford a GT350, so I'm being a bit self-centered

The Bullitt wasn't considered a SE near the end of the platform cycle.. It was actually brought back on the new edge SN-95 platform in 2001 and once again in 2008-09 prior to the S197 re-fresh in 2010..
Also the original Mach 1 was first introduced in 69 during the 1st generation era through 73 and then carried over to the Mustang II generation from 74-78..
Altogether the Mach 1 remained in production uninterrupted for 9 years and then resurrected once again in 2003-04..
Therefore I don't see why Ford can't produce a SE variant of the Mach 1 on the current S550 platform

Yes on the Bullitt, but they were an SE package.
The Mach1 and the BOSS302 more than any of the SE's of the last 15 years were more than a package. They had completely different engines among other things.
The Bullitt would be easier to do for less $. Really it was a performance pack car and mufflers and a special colour with some very minor cosmetic changes.
If the car changes a lot in 2021/22 and that is a radically different look, we could see an SE in MY19-20?

I totally understand where your coming from Pete.. Therefore I should've posted the Bullitt was indeed an SE package, but wasn't towards the end of the production run cycle as was the 2003-04 Mach 1.. The Bullitt was resurrected twice, first in 2001 on the new edge SN-95 platform and again in 2008-09 on the S197 platform..
Being as we didn't have a Mach 1 during the entire production run of the now previous S197 platform, I'm hoping that perhaps Ford just might decide to produce a modern interpretation of the Mach 1 on the current S550 platform..
Hopefully we might see a return of the Mach 1 as either a 2018MY or 19MY just as you mentioned along with the rumored GT500 as well as the Hellcat killer lol.
Guess time will only tell

So,.......it doesn't seem like we are getting a new GT500 for the '18 model year. I hear it's going to be a different car under a pretty reliable source on another Mustang forum.
Should be interesting.

The Ford GT is a "slightly" different customer than the Mustang customer.

I'm sure a supercharger will still fit under the '18 hood.
Worst case is they come up with different motor mounts to lower the engine a bit.
No different than what some GT500 owners do to fit big blowers like the 3.4 Whipple

Yea Gabe - I agree with what you are saying.
