2016 Factory Order Question - Offsite Status???

i saw a thread back in 2010 where a car was sent offsite for some reason and now mine has been sent offsite days before it was going to arrive at my dealer; does anyone know why the car was sent offsite or where it went? my dealer was very concerned because the ETA date change from 5/7 to N/A; any ideas? see my signature for details!

From what I've heard the racing stripes and GT/CS logos are applied off site.

I got racing stripes installed and there was never an updated that told me off site...and I was following updates like a hawk! Nothing was ever delayed either. That is def weird though.

my dealer chimed in this morning and said:

"Our Ford rep e-mailed me back late last night. He said there is no information on any "stop-ship" (indicating a problem). He speculated that "sent-offsite" could be for a quality inspection or that it was sent offsite to await shipment."

Definitely sent "off-site" for stripe installation.

I've had my 2016 EB on order since Feb 11 and it was built 4/20. When I was last able to track it on Cotus Monday 4/25, it stated it was in the "Awaiting Shipment" stage. I then checked with my dealer last Thursday 4/28, status was "built" but not yet released from the plant (Awaiting Shipment would be after it is released so Cotus was not quite correct).

I also have O-T-T Stripes on my order, and they say this can add up to a week to delivery.

My original estimated delivery date was 5/9 (next Monday) and I'm 99.9% sure that it will not make that !!

I have not been able to check my status on cotus since Monday April 26, so I've been relying on my salesman and Ford Customer Service on M6G ever since.

Last Thursday (5/5), got an e-mail from my salesman telling me it is was finally on a train headed to the Markam railyard (SW of Chicago) ... probably arrived there later that day. This is where it gets unloaded and transferred onto a delivery truck. My 2011 sat in the Markham yard for a week before it finally got loaded onto a truck and delivered to my dealer about 3 hours north.

I also got an update from Ford CS late Friday saying it was "In Transit", but she also stated estimated dely. was re-scheduled for 5/16 !!

The Flat Rock plant is 450 miles / 7 hours away from my dealer, yet it took 7 days from the day it was loaded on the train for my 2011 to arrive at my dealer. I'd think it should be possible that my 2016 will come quicker, but I'm not getting my hopes up ... I will be unhappy though if FCS is correct with the 5/16 date and it does not arrive by Friday !!

I've tried to get on cotus various times since 4/25 but have had no luck. While writing this reply I decided to give it a shot and actually got through and was able to see my car again on Cotus !!

It was "Awaiting Shipment" on 5/3 and YES is now "In Transit" with an "Estimated Delivery" of 5/16, just as FCS said last Friday.

at least you have an ETA; a few cars that were built with mine have been delivered already...so painful

try this cotus site - http://wwwqa.cotusa.ford.com/ it has been rock solid for me

Yep ... that's the site I had been using (without the "a" at the end of cotus) and was able to get through today but had failed every other time since 4/25.

I did order my car 3+ weeks sooner than you ... so I got that ... but then I've heard of many others getting their cars much quicker too.

My 2011 took 13 weeks, which was the longest I've had to wait for an ordered car to date ... this 2016 if delivered 5/16, will have taken longer !!
