I was never fond of the candy cane look. One of the main reasons I went for the 2013 over a 2012.

Why can't we put the Back up lights in the lower rear bumper where they belong? I really cannot see how it could cost that much more in full production.

Also, If this mustang still cost over 35k in GT format and near to OVER 40k as GTCS then I am done. There is no way I will ever be able to afford one. It might as well cost 300,000.00 as far as I am concerned.

It's a Mustang. NOT an M3, it is so posed to be a working mans car not a Baby boomer toy.

Just saying. I could be wrong.

Really liking that. And I could realistically see it being something close to this.

This is where the Mustang crossed a line and is the classic case of having cake and eating it too. Thing is that the Mustang is barely priced out of contention following its years of production. It's only about $1200 off par which is pretty good considering its 50 year run.

The car is better than its ever been. It's faster, stiffer, better materials and an engine that is anything but a poor mans engine. In fact I feel the coyote is too good for the Mustang. Ford wins an engine that rivals the best in the industry.

I've said this before but the cost to live vs the cost of ownership is skewed now. People haven't recovered enough to make up the difference. But inflation goes on and on. You can't just compare price, that's not fair. I'd love to have 1994 prices but I don't live in 1994. I want a new Mustang too but even I know it's just barely out of reach for me. The Mustang is the best value in the market as far as I am concerned. Just to give perspective. The e30 M3 cost about 40k when it was introduced. That's over 70k now. What does an e90 cost? About 70k.

Mustang isn't the only one. Look at Corvette and even Camaro and Challenger. They have suffered the same fate.

I think ford has tried hard to keep it a working mans car. I've priced base GTs at under 30k. Loaded one with track pack and reactors for just under 35. Now that's a hell of a deal but its money I didn't have.

You aren't wrong but neither is the market unfortunately.

You brought up a great question though that many have asked. At what point is the Mustang just a cheap hot rod? Could they keep a solid axle and SOHC engine? A pushrod even? What is it that would drive down costs?

They thought giving a better base engine was the answer. I don't know. At this point there will never be a Fox LX again. Ever. A Base GT is as close as we get.

Thanks Kelsey, I guess I know all this deep down and I am just another frustrated guy that can no long get the car I want but then again I had a SN95 and I loved. It was the best car I ever own. I mean that, It was the most reliable, best performing, the most fun and it got DAM good mileage to boot. My wife and I took my 2002 stang on long vacations to NY state, we live in MD, and the car was loaded with stuff and had 2 people inside and it still got a SOLID 28 MPG. I have had Honda's, Mazadas', Plymouths' and now a VW and NOT ONE can compare to the reliability and Fun aspect of my Mustang. IN fact the Honda, Mazda and VW have cast me more in repair then I paid for the Mustang and it was 20k 2 years old and with 12k miles on it. I miss my stang and I would love to have another but that is out of the budget. I guess what makes it worse is my car was taken in the night b y joy riders and then burned the next night. I could not afford to replace it then nor can I now.

Sorry for the sob story but I just would live to drive one again and the price prevents that but you are correct sir, It is a HELL OF A LOT ever for 38K.

I completely agree with you.

I can't imagine what it's like to loose so much awesome. I had all my truck broken into and all my audio equipment stolen. I would have been completely deflated had my truck been stolen.

When I left for Iraq all I wanted was a used Cobra Termi. Not once did I find one in good enough shape and prices started going up and stayed up. I know what you mean about the SN95. I thought they were great save for some interior quality. Though every one of them I rode in were just great and a ton of fun. Even today I still entertain the idea of finding one as a project.

Always thought the Mustang did a better job at being cheaper fun with a low cost V8 while the Camaro was a pay to play kind of car.

Simpler times back then. Heck even today I can't find the extra cash for an old Mustang. When I finally got home from Iraq I bought an Accord coupe and I've never recovered! Hahaha! A 4.10 posi and a V8 go a long way in the fun dept.

I love my first Mustang...2003 GT, but its gone as soon as I can swing the payments on a 2015, if it looks anything like some of these renderings!

IDK, maybe after my road trip to Northern Cali this next month, I may change my tune, but for now, looking forward to the future!

These renderings look to much like a S197 especially the green house. Don't know why the tail lights would not be more like the 13 or 14.. Are these older renderings??

lets face it that 80% of the renderings are just bad photoshops. People take a base model of what we already have IE the coyote body and the s197. Then just throw on what we know mostly what has been release, like the front fascia and run with it. Everything else is speculation. People get to wrapped up in renderings.

I agree with you on the fact that the tail lights should be more like the 13-14's instead of going to the 2010-12 style, thats why i think this rendering is mostly bad. Did a great job on the front fascia but everything else is old/speculation.

That's a pretty fair price! My fuel bill would probably quadruple. But those Cobras put a serious grin on my face.

Anywho, not to side track too much...I agree, too much S197 in these renders. Some still look decent but we are pretty curious about how the other 2/3 will look.
