2015 SHELBY GT500 AND 2016 SHELBY GT 350?
I am confused by the different reports about possible future 2015 and 2016 SVT Mustangs. First it was said there will be a 2016 Shelby GT 350 with a NA 5.0+ engine with a flat plane crank and there would be no GT 500. Later Car and Driver reported that the GT 500 will continue and it will have the same 5.8 engine as the current GT 500 even after many said that it will not fit in the new car. Some reports say that there will be both cars and the 500+ hp GT 350 will compete against the Z28 Camaro and the 662 hp GT 500 will continue to compete agains the ZL1 Camaro. I have seen Mazda Miatas stuffed with 5.0 ford V8s so I know that if ford want the 5.8 engine in the new body they can find a way but will they do so with the CAFE restrictions in mind? It would be very difficult for Ford to at least match the ZL1's 580 hp without the 5.8 trinity engine or a very heavily modified coyote engine I am waiting and hoping that the trinity engine lives on so I can by a 2015 GT 500 and have fun with all the Nay sayers who bought the 2014 or 2013 GT 500

This has been discussed in multiple threads, ad nauseam.
You want the 5.8, buy one now.
You're pushrod 5oh argument in a miata is invalid in this case.
SVT will have the vehicle that they are currently working on.(whatever it may be called). The end.

No. Just no. SVT doesn't typically do two radically different Mustang offerings. Look around and, as Boomer said, this has been discussed. I'm not sure why you chose to start a thead on it.

I have heard the no 5.8 story before but what I am asking is what engine is that in the SVT prototype? It is definitely not a flat plane crank engine. Also how will ford match the ZL1s power if it is a coyote engine? Any ideas or theories or are we just going back and forth with me saying it is possible and you guys saying it is impossible.
