If 2014 brings any significant special addition, my guess is that it would be either:
Bullitt 5.0: basically, a de-clowned Boss 302, or
Boss 351: basically a Boss 302 but with a naturally aspirated version of the GT500's motor.
With the attention and resources being devoted primarily to the redesigned 2015, don't expect anything that would divert much R&D time and money on the S197's swan song year. If one if the above two SE's does see the light of day, I would expect it to be the Bullitt as it would essentially be the already certified Boss mechanicals but in a toned down, Highland Green paint job and some detrimming, kind of an anti tape stripe and spoiler package.

In reality, I think this is the most likely scenario, to grind through the final model year as cheaply as possible.
Unless...in the interest of keeping the Mustang brand firmly in the market consciousness, Ford opts to have the S197 platform not whimper away but go out in a blaze and generate a strong wake upon which the 2015 could surf in on, brand strength undiminished. Given the far more competitive environment the Stang currently reside in, that may be a necessary exit/transition strategy.
Should Ford be as canny as I am (lol), a plainly retro swan song model may be ideal to (a) give the old school traditionalists one last retro model to hang on to, and (b) provide a sharp contrast to the more modern 2015.
Ford, I'll expect my consultancy payment in the form of a nicely optioned, stick shift 2015 GT. I'll pick it up.

I agree.
They already have a BOSS, which is running for 2 years in 2 different looks.
Do you run a third and risk oversaturating the market and make it not a limited edition vehicle? They are special that they look different both years and can be differentiated as such.
Do you take that hardware and make it into something else? Like a Mach1 and risk ruining the speciality of it being a name package on a great car that it really wasn't meant to be. It was meant to be a BOSS from the beginning, not a BOSS stripe package on an SE upgraded vehicle.
Do you spend the R/D money for a 1MY run of an SE car?
While yes you may be able to reuse a handful of parts on the incoming car (i'm just spitballing here, I have no idea what could be reused or not.) It's a lot of work for 1yr.
You have everything from 305hp V6 to a 662hp GT500, in a fantastic looking facelifted skin that is 1yr old. I wouldn't exactly say its fizzling out.
Also take into consideration that at the point that the timeline between when 2014s are available to the point that the 15MY is shown, isn't really that long of a wait.
While its still a while away, blink and it'll be here.
The hype train left the station already. Choo Choo *****es!

Good point, guys. Lets face it, the "standard" line up of V6, GT and GT500 should be more than enough to see us through to the new car.
I think it's just that Ford has been on such a roll, turning out something new every year since the '10 model, that we've come to expect a new gem every year.
I'll just settle for a bunch spyshots of the '15

I wouldn't mind seeing them offer a naturally-aspirated 525-horse 5.8L Mach 1 with a "Shaker" hood again ...

that sounds good to me ... on another note are some of you guys thinking a BOSS429 should not be built cause it would " ONE UP " the current shelby .. in my opinion the boss series has always been represented as more a muscle/performance car than a shelby .. shelby never had the 302 or 429 engines ...

The clock has just about struck midnight on this rumor, in my opinion it already has. Order banks usually open around mid Nov. Ford would've gotten info out about this car by now. There would be the typical "leaks" from all the usual sources.
