Very slight pause on rapid acceleration

Just wondering, have a black 2012 V-6 with PP and noticed on somewhat rapid accelerating that at a certain point, especially in 3rd gear, it almost feels like a switch is thrown and the acceleration picks up even more..seems to be just a very very slight pause..does this have to do with the Ti-VCT? I have not really gotten on it as I just got the car end of Oct and it only has about 480 miles on it ( I hate winter - just put it away until next spring!) But love the car, wanted the GT but couldn't really afford the extra $7,000 for the V-8. I can't imagine what that must be like, the V-6 feels a lot more powerful than my old 87 GT with the 5.0 from back then. Have had a few decent cars in my day ( 64 GTO with tripower 389, 73 Charger with 400, 78 Trans Am with TA 6.6, 84 Z-28, the 87 Mustang GT, even an 79 Cobra with the 302 that had only 145 or so HP)...but really like the looks and feel of this 2012. It's going to be my nice weather car so hope to keep it for many years, unless I happen to come into some cash and can swing a V-8!!!!

Normal. I've had customers call it Ford's version of V-Tech. LOL
Ford programmed in power reductions for warranty reasons.
In this case to save the transmission.
They can be removed via programming.

Hey JCStang,

I advise you to have your dealer take a look at your vehicle and make sure there is nothing else going on. Make an appointment with them and PM me with VIN, dealer, mileage, and contact info so I can help.
