update Sync via USB???
Hello. Is there a way to determine of an update to the LCD Radio/SYNC is available? if so, how can I do it?
Someone posted pictures with a different looking LCD screen than mine and I want it!

Syncmyride.com can help, but there's not been anything I've heard of with a screen update like you're talking about.
Look at this thread about 18 post down, click on the two picture links

kylerohde is correct. If an update is available for instant download, you'll find it here: www.Support.Ford.com after logging in. The website will also let you know if an update is only available at the dealership.

I have version 4.1.3 and the website tells me i'm up do date.
And if there really is an update, why is it only available at the dealer and why would the website not tell me there is an update? I am more than capable of doing the update myself and the dealer will charge their $100+/hr labor rate to plug a flash drive into the car and press a few buttons.

I'd have to disagree with this. According to this post, there is an update available to version 4.1.3.

Hey there,
If an update is available to be downloaded from the computer, it will appear on: www.Support.Ford.com If the website prompts for a dealership visit, it means that the update is recommended for all vehicles with that type of SYNC system but can't be downloaded from home.
If the website says you're already up-to-date on software, and you're experiencing issues with the system that can't be resolved through basic troubleshooting, the dealership will need to step in and diagnose at that point. They are the ones who determine if an additional update is necessary to resolve an issue specific to your vehicle.
I only have access to information on software updates available on: www.Support.Ford.com If you have any questions about the update mentioned in the previous post, your dealership will be able to provide more information on this.

I'd be happy to verify that you're running the recommended software version. I'll just need you to send me a PM with your VIN.
