Steering wheel buttons paint wearing off
I had my switches replaced under warranty for this issue. I'm at 39k now and the new buttons are starting to leak light through again. I'm out of warranty now, so I'll just live with it. But it gets to the point where I avoid using the steering wheel buttons because I don't want them to fade quicker.
My 2011 GT has done 22'K and the outside edges of the regularly used buttons all have worn away (Cruise control and sync in particular) so that light shines through at night and its noticeable during the day.
Pretty poor show Ford....
Would be nice if Ford would send me the new parts for me to fit over here in the UK but the Ford UK dealers are not interested in an American import which really sucks.

Cheer!
I just picked up a used 2011, flawless except the buttons. Has anyone replaced the steering wheel buttons themselves? How difficult is it? Would rather not pay 150 bucks for button replacement at a dealer.
Took my car to the service center two weeks ago, the rep told me he would replace it for me under warranty, he ordered the part. I took it in yesterday to get it replaced, in about 10 minutes that annoyance was taken care of flawlessly.
All you do is pull off the steering wheel trim then pull out the switch. It's all held in with friction, no clips or screws. Then unplug the switch and install the opposite of removal. It's that simple!
