Removing 2 Sided tape! Help!
Hi everybody...
I've had my Mustang for 2 weeks now and need some advise...
I live in Japan, so Ford made some modifications to my GT to make it road legal here.
Some of the mods are actually kinda cool, but the 5.0 badges have a plastic surrounding that is stuck on with what appears to be double sided tape... The dealer says it's because the badges stick out too far! Huh?
The stuff seems pretty strong as I tested the waters today by pulling a little to see if they would budge... No luck despite it being 94 degrees this afternoon! I didn't try very hard because I'm afraid of damaging the paint.
So... Any advise on getting them off?
I'll post a picture as soon as I can!
Thanks!

Use 40 lb. test braided fishing line to cut through the double-sided tape, using a sawing motion, then use Goo Gone to remove the residual mess. I would use some blue painter's tape to tape off the surrounding area first, just so you don't accidentally scratch it. Don't use any plastic scrapers, as this will definetly scratch the clearcoat finish. Also, the emblem may have locating pins, so you may need to move the fishing line around the pins some. Good luck.

I'm a little worried that there may be some discoloration under the protector (possibly from the sun?) since the car was built in December and those protectors have been on since February.
You guys think it would be ok?
