Nav System error

On the way into work this morning, my nav system screen went blank with words something like "System error, system will have limited funtionality, see your dealer."
Anyone seen this before and what was the cause/ fix?
I am planning on going by the dealership after work and see what they say, just trying to get an idea before hand.
Thanks.

Ok, so after I got out of work , it was fine again. May have been some sort of electrical glitch this morning, I will be keeping an eye out now.
Adrian, did you get any kind of alternator/charging light on the dash at the same time, or did it just shut down the nav with no other indication of an issue?

it said system error and everything went dark. The motor surged and I coasted it into the dealer.
