Mustang alarm question - 2011 GT

I'm seeing something for the first time on my 2011 GT. When I shut off the car, a red alarm light blinks slowly in the tachometer. Is this normal? Or, am I only now just seeing this after two years?

It has been always there .. I have a 2012 and it'd been flashing since the day I bought it.

Thanks, Tom. How embarrassing of me not to notice! Weird that it flashes regardless of whether the alarm is activated or not.
