TSB 12-8-14 - Adds drive belt system from F-150

EDIT: I've updated this post after Houtex's helpful input.

I was looking through the TSBs to see which parts I might want to order, since there is no warranty on this side of the ocean.

TSB 12-8-14 concerns the light lower end knocking noise associated with the A/C. The TSB actually installs a much different belt system than what was originally there, adding the idler and tensioner system from the F-150.

Wow, that's an elaborate fix.

Not real sure, but it sounds like you have an early engine build date. If so, you have to replace the front engine cover to be able to mount the new tensioner system. See step 3 of the procedure regarding this. Because step 4 says to "replace engine cover", but ONLY if you have this engine. The description you've given regarding the situation sounds very much like this is your case.

Once that is done, then the tensioner in question can be used to apply the fix.

I'm assuming you've done the 'no AC belt check' first to see if this fix applies to your situation, yes?

I have a later build which has the bosses on the cover.

It's just clicked for me that the TSB actually installs a much different belt system than what was originally there, adding the idler and tensioner system from the F-150.

Wow, that's an elaborate fix.

So near as I can figure with my research... I need to have this TSB performed to correct my noise. I have tried to record my vehicle with my camera but my camera does not pick up the noise. I found this youtube video and this is EXACTLY what my car does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW4Jbbg1VfM I had a tech ride with me at my local dealer and we duplicated the noise. It was the same time I was dropping off my vehicle to have the timing cover resealed (Oil Leak). The tech was mostly concerned with the leak so I understand why this was not addressed at the time. But now as I am getting further along in my warranty I want to get it corrected. What do you guys think? How do I tell if my cover needs to be replaced also? Hope not! Will be third time my timing cover has been off in 4000 vehicle miles if it does.
