Driveline vibration reprise

Heads up Deysha. While I was waiting to jump through the hoops about the duelmass flywheel V6 intermittent vibration issue the throwout bearing started to whine at me above 5000 rpm. The dealer concurred. It's been a month since it was replaced. While it was apart I had them replace the CHICOM stamped steel, rubber and zip tie shifter bracket with a Barton two post shifter bracket. Mystery wrapped in an enigma! The intermittent vibration can still be detected but the severity has been decreased by 85%.

As an aside, I get a little harmonic through the area going through the gears now but to me it adds to the......experience.

Thoughts.

I have a 2013 Roush RS V6 6sp that has the vibration when slowing down at 2750rpm. Took it to my dealership, Woody Anderson Ford,Huntsville, Al, and had a service mgr. drive it. He noticed it and looked to see if there were and TSB's about it, none, but he did tell me Ford knew about it but had no fix.

Let me know if you’d like for me to get this escalated for you as well, Redbaron93.

I have another issue that might interest you. My car has the 19' Brembo brake pkg. wheels and I recently had to put new tires on it because stupidly I forgot to rotate the first set. I pretty much am the only person in the car but this time the tires are being rotated but I am having issues with the drivers side tires. Took it to the dealership and they swapped another set of wheels/tires on it and the noise went away. They did rotate the tires to the other side, they are not directional, and the noise moved to that side. My problem is I love the car but I can't replace tires every 8-10k miles. The front end was re-aligned when the new tires were installed. Any ideas?

I would go to another dealer. I don't know much about rotating tires but the place i buy tires always rotate front to rear and rear to the front. They never change sides unless a full size spare in going to be added to the rotation, which is rare now days. They have been selling and rotating tires for over 60 years.

I'm getting close to 20,000 miles. The dealership rotates the tires when I have the oil changed at 5000 miles. The Pirelli tires are about 2/3rds gone. I've noticed of late a drone while on the interstate above 50 mph. I suspect the tires are in need of a rotation, I'll report.
On the original topic. I keep seeing new folks popping up on here discussing the drive train vibration and dismay about the drive shaft design and the speed limiter. Ford is mum about their poor design and cost cutting efforts. My car is essentially a GT with a V6 because I ordered it that way to commute with and still have performance. It provides that for me with the exception of the aforementioned items. The sticker on my car was a little north of $34.000.00 and I end up with cheesy imported parts to save a few bucks, I did not expect a GT, I expected quality.
Anybody up for a class action suit about these ill designed and poor quality parts that are a continual bummer......UB.3

So vibration when slowing down to 2750 rpm's isn't normal? I have a '14 V6 w/6sp and the 3.31 gears. I thought that was just the gears making the car vibrate as. I can have the car do this for me anytime I like. So this is not normal and I should take it to the dealer?

Is there actually a fix for this? Has anyone had their dealer fix it for them? I have it as well (only 600 miles on the car), but I'm not going to bother being without a car for a while if I'll just be told there's nothing to be done.

I agree, if there is no fix yet, I'm not wasting my time.

Has this been resolved, Redbaron93? If not, let me get it escalated for you. PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

Both of you should bring them into your Ford Dealers and get them checked out. Make an appointment with them and let me get this escalated to the customer service manager for you area. Please, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can help.

In regards to the vibration, my appointment was this morning and I just received a call back from the dealership indicating that this is normal with this engine and manual transmission. And there is no fix needed. There was a SMB (Special Motors Bulletin?) from Ford stating this from last year.

Deysha, the response to stpolo from his dealer service department begs the question; is the drive line vibration that you have directed owners to service departments in the past a problem or not? I have discussed my associated parts wear concerns earlier.

On a related subject; does the new model mustang have a "duel mass" flywheel with any of the engine options, and do the new mustangs have a two piece drive line with a resulting speed limiter?

There is no info on this yet, UB.3. You're more than welcome to check again with me around the end of next month.

New to this fine sight and would like to ad one more...recently purchased 2012 V6 6 speed...(Mustang #17, yes no kidding) to the vibration between 2500-3500 ordeal. Deysha, I joined this sight because of the active role you play within this community. it's nice to see a Ford representative listening to owners who drives Mustangs. I am about to make an appointment at my local dealer here in Lexington, Ky...is there anything new to report on this issue since the last update to this particular thread was a while back? Duel Mass, drive shaft...is there any clear answer and what should I tell my dealer?

Welcome, jejgt! Your dealer will need to first fully diagnose your vehicle. Then they can look into any new information available. Please let me know what they say.

Yes please let us know jejgt what your dealership says, as I have the driveline vibration every day. I find it very odd that this is "normal". I still love the car!

Yes, thanks and I will update to the sight. Hope to get in sometime next week although I'd afraid SOP is that Ford is aware, no recommendation has been made for a fix and I will be sent on my merry way. I too stpolo can get it to do it just about anytime I want, I also try to avoid the situation by shifting and throttle control. I haven't had the car long, really like it but admit I dismissed it at first during initial test drives as something else. I can and will obviously live with it, my concern is long term and how long term a fix may eventually come after our power train warranties vanish. I trust FORD know whats going on and will do what they have to do.

for what its worth stpolo mine is about 2500-2300 rpms only on deceleration or coasting...lasting in the neighborhood of 2-3 seconds, mild but not violent and then goes away. There has to be something to this scenario because its the EXACT same description given by so many owners. I just want to know what it is? driveshaft or the duel mass clutch causing the shake and bake...
