Dash rattle near glove box

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a rattle in the dash near the glove box....
Was anybody able to fix it? I first thought it was the glove box door, and I put some extra material between the door and the rubber stops. It tightened up the door, but the rattle remained. Then I put a cloth between the a-pillar and the dash! as there was some play. But that did not solve it either. I am looking in the wrong places... All suggestions are welcome!

Basically, you'll have to start bumping things over there by hand. You'll eventually find it.

Or sit in the pax seat while someone drives over a lil' bumpy patch so you can catch it yourself.

Yeah, the thing is, when I push the dash a little up with my leg, the rattle stops. So I thought it was the glove box door.... which it was not. I might have to take it apart.

Hello Plim,

You should have it checked out at your Ford Dealer and let me escalate this for you. PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

I finally found the rattle and was able to fix it!

It turned out to be the ducting that connects to the passenger side air vent above the glove box. The duct is larger than the actual vent. I was able to place some double sided sticky foam between the two parts, and it took care of the rattle.

I had that rattle since day one. Dammit now I have to track it down. If I push on the lower dash pad or the trim around the vent, it goes away. I probably have the same rattle you do.

Hmmm, I thought maybe this was mine too, but mine has always sounded like it's coming from the passenger side speaker and only happens at 60 mph or more. Guess I need to check this one though!

I probably missed it in your entire (endless) list of new add-ons and improvements.... But what exhaust are you getting?
I have the GT500's single tip, but I could hear the rattle. I tried to ignore it for a long time, but yesterday it was enough and I decided to fix it (and my hearing is getting bad). So your new exhaust needs to be LOUD.

Lmao am I that bad? This week I should finally have my free muffler deletes on, until I get my Solo Performance quad-tip catback. They don't offer that, you say? JoeMidnight and I are working with them to R&D it!

no mufflers? Should be loud enough to drown the rattle. :-)

Yep haha sounds pretty decent on YouTube but it's only temp until I get my catback in a month or two. I can't do the stock exhaust.

I did actually remove the two foam pieces out of the sound tube and that helps, but I might put one back in. It's a little metallic sounding now, but it almost sounds like a Ferrari at high revs!
