Bubbles and rust on decklid

Anyone else have an issue with bubbled paint and rust on the underside of there rear trunk deck?

I have a 2011 5.0. I talked to sales guy that I have bought many cars from while I was getting my oil changed and was told they would prob repair it. The service adviser also in agreement
The dealer took pictures and said they would get back to me in 7-10 days to see if its covered. I called at day 14 and they said no response from ford. I called almost 60 days later and was told it was denied and they could not help me. The car now has 40,000 miles and rust on the trunk. I keep it in the garage and take it to car shows so I am very disappointed.

I had 38,000 miles on the car so the factory surface rust warranty I understand is over but I am sure it had been there for at least a year and I never noticed it with the amount of bubbled paint and rust. I expected more from ford. It is my first new ford and I expected they would be able to help in someway.
I love my car but this and prior bubbles on the paint on the hood makes me want to pass on ford next time.

I had my hood fixed a year ago by the dealer and they paid for it.

The same with my hood, they repainted the entire underneath of the hood about 1 year ago. Did a great job.

There are actually several past threads on this issue.

This morning I was at the dealer having them replace my door panel under warranty. While I was there, I showed the SA where it looked like bubbling on the underside of my trunk lid where the seam is on the back part of the lid. He took some pictures and sent them in. That was about 8:30am. He just called at about 12:45pm and said that Ford authorized the repair. He said it will probably be a couple of weeks until the body shop that they are contracted with will be able to do it. He said they will give me a car to drive while they have my car for a couple of days. Here is some pics of mine.

Well, tomorrow is the day I take the car in to get this problem taken care of. The problem is that the other day I checked under the hood and discovered that it has issues too so now I'm hoping that Ford will authorize the body shop to fix under the hood while they have it for the trunk lid.

This is just crazy. How many years has Ford been painting cars and how long have vehicles had aluminum body panels? You wouldn't think that this would be an issue in this day and time.

Seriously, I wonder what they are going to do with the aluminum F150.

Pretty sure paint and rust is covered for at least 60,000 miles

I don't think it is. I think it falls under the 3year/36,000 mile part of the warranty. The 60,000 mile part is for the drivetrain. I've read some posts of people with this issue being denied warranty since their cars had over 36,000 miles and it was before they had 60,000 miles.

I was denied warranty paint bubbling work because I had over 36,000 miles

Me too. Rust is only covered beyond that if it completely perforates, meaning goes all the way through the metal and makes a hole,

I found out that Ford denied my claim for the bubbling of the paint on the front hood. I can't figure Ford out. They authorize the back but not the front. Seriously thinking that this will be my last Ford.

Wayne, there are easy, inexpensive, legal options to try. That is the route I am taking, I'm not the type to let this go. It is obvious Ford knows exactly what they are doing and are relying on consumers to not act and accept their inferior product.

I talked to the SA today about why they denied the front. He said that they denied it because it looked like something got poured on the paint. He was talking about a spot on the inner driver's side fender. I asked, "what about the paint issue on the underside of the hood"? He said that they denied everything. I told the SA that it was BS and that it seems like it is always something with Ford and their warranty.

I guess there is a reason I have bought GM for all of these years. I've bought three new GM vehicles over the years and I never had problems getting warranty things fixed. I'm sure people have these issues with GM but I never had.

It's a good thing that the Mustang is still fun to drive or it would be gone.

I got the car back today and it looks good. I just wish they would have approved the front.
