I loosened one of your ground wires when we were wrenching on the car a few weeks back. Paypal me $500 and I'll tell you which one.

The car has done it again, most recently yesterday.

Additional troubleshooting steps:
-Jump start car (no joy/no change)
-pull battery for extended period
-flash ECU to stock
-flash ECU to other tunes
-adjust column, lock and unlock steering wheel, turn to various positions
-reset key programming
-lock, unlock and engage alarm of car, disengage alarm through remote
-verified good operation of NSS
-checked for DTCs, none
-moved car back and forth, bounced in it (a tip from a south african aircraft engineer, seemed better than cursing).
-seems to happen when car had been driven previously in a 3 hour window.
-moved and checked all fuses and relays
-called a tow, pushed the car out onto the street for loading, and sure enough, starts.
-gave 06GT a pile of cash

its started every time since as well. The dealer feels they may have to charge me a diagnostic fee and that they may not be able to troubleshoot the issue if it won't duplicate, but darn-it, I can't believe my in-warranty 2011 mustang just refuses to start once a month randomly.

Its at Bell Ford, which for my region has the best service, so I hope they find something. I can't imagine what.

You might just have to go in to Toshi Station for a new power converter!

Good Luck with it, CaptD!

They wasted no time today. Car has a new starter and is ready for pickup. Just going to have them review the pesky rattle from the other thread, but first bit of good news this week.

FYI, I have a 2013 Mustang with an exhaust and tune. This does not void the warranty unless Ford can show that the problem you are having is being caused by the mods you made. The only mod that could be related to this problem is the aftermarket tune. Flash it back to a factory tune. Do you still have the problem? It wasn't the tune. Heck, if you are really paranoid about it, leave it at the factory tune when you bring it back. It may run a little rough because of the mods you did, but that will not cause the problem you are having.

BTW, I have had the same problem on my 2013 Mustang GT in the past. One time I had both keys in close proximity to each other in the car with me, and I read in the owner's manual that this could trigger the anti-theft system, which will cut off the ignition. I removed the second key, waited about 30 minutes, and the car started. The other time I tried the "flooded engine" scenario, even though the engine wasn't trying to turn over. But it worked. The car started. Maybe when the engine is flooded the computer completely shuts off the ignition, starter, whatever to prevent an explosion. Try holding down the gas all the way to the floor, and the brake at the same time, then see if it starts.

Probably a little late to worry about flashing it back to stock....

resurrecting old thread

So guess what I started having intermittent no crank issues. I was doing some research and came across this in Google. I did some further searching and found this TSB posted on late model restoration.com. Check out FORD TSB ARTICLE # 12-11-12.

I'm having the same problem with my 2012. For a while I would have intermittent no starts. Battery would supply power to everything and if I jiggled my key it would then sometimes start right up. This happened a few times. I found later on the battery went bad and corroded up my positive terminal. I replaced the battery and cleaned up the terminal real well. Cranked ok for while and now back to no start. Battery is ok. I'm stuck now. Getting plenty of power to lights, windows, radio etc. Tried jumping. I think it's a wiring issue or starter/solenoid problem. Also, suspect a possible issue with PATS/Ignition cylinder. Any solutions/ideas? OP did you find out your problem. I'll be towing it to the dealer soon.

I was having a similar issue with my car that was parked in my garage. I left the spare keys in the center console, went to use them to start the car and NOTHING. After a few days of tracking wires and making sure everything was okay (I just installed a new stereo and back up camera) I was looking on forums and saw it might be a key fob issue... I was thinking, "no f***king way is it that simple.
Took the original keys out and BOOM! Fired right up! Un-Believable!!!

Note: I created an account just for this problem.
I have a 2013 gt premium and had a very similar issue with my car tonight; drove it to work just fine, when I got out it wouldn't start or turn over at all. I tried almost every solution in this thread and it turned out that my clutch safety switch is/was bad, but thankfully there is a little button under the dash behind the pedals to the left that apparently bypasses the clutch safety switch. worked like a charm for me, I hope this helps any future lurkers like myself.

Hold up. Hang on. Is it the switch on the firewall?

You might want to watch this... That switch might not be 'fixing' anything, and could be making it worse... It may have needed adjustment/replacement...

Now, I know it's an '06, V6, but I want to say the same applies to anything manual S197...

Just food for thought. Carry on.

So, figured mine out last night. The safety switch wasn't being pushed in all the way for some reason. Plastic welded a little spacer on the end of the rubber stop, works just fine again. I guess the switch could be going bad. If this stops working I'll replace the switch.

This is the same video I was watching last night, which led me to try just pushing the switch in with my finger
