Same exact situation happened to me - went in for an oil change, mentioned the recall and as luck would have it they had the part in stock so they replaced it right then so I'm good to go but they initially did give me bit of a hard time because I had not gotten the "official" letter in the mail.

Yes and then there is the Chinese MT82 in my Stang. Makes me nervous. There are gremlins in it. It acts up now and then. It's unpredictable and infrequent.

The defective airbag components were manufactured in Mexico.

Anyone still having issues getting the airbags replaced, my dealer is telling me that they are not even close to having replacements in stock....

This is well known. It's likely to be a very long wait. Our Mustangs are part of a group of some 30 odd million affected cars.
