I was trying to see if anything looked blatantly wrong in that pic of the two trans shafts, I can't really see anything obvious. That tool in the lower right hand corner with the two heads and wooden handle though would probably do the best job on this trans...

Yup, all the gears look great, no missing teeth or rounded edges, some metal shavings. I DID notice that the 3rd gear synchro looked a bit rounded(look by the wrench). But nothing jumped out at me..

Good AND Bad News, I think ill start with the good.

Good:
I got my car back today.

Bad:
The dealer told me "Your close to needing an oil change", I thought "fine, I am in class I dont have time to talk about this", so I said "sure, thank you". Granted I should of asked but I figured after you have let my car sit for 21 days, you would step up and "just do it" not charge me $48.95 when I went to pick my car up.

Now, at this point the service manager looks up and says "I need you to fill out your service card with all high marks". After I, the owner, had to call ford(service managers job?) because my car had sat for 11 days "waiting on throw out bearings", the zone rep said that was crazy and wasnt sure why they where just replacing internals and not starting with a BRAND NEW trans, so she ordered one(Wednesday).

I picked my car up and the cord for my iPod is broke(no big deal...)

Get onto the road and it is UNGODLY loud, I can hear/feel air coming around the trans tunnel...my guess is all the sound proofing didn't make it back.

9 miles....throws its first code(not sure on it yet)

By the time I get home it has a rattle under the hood...all RPM dependent.

So, my $34,000 car will sit..........for another weekend.............till I can get it to ANOTHER dealer on Monday.

Any major issues with it this go around I think I will be looking for a new car.

Wow, sorry to hear, it sure sounds like many of you guys on this forum have crappy dealerships and Techs,
Are the dealers paying these guys crap money? How experienced are these guys?

These dealers have been the huge part of Ford getting a bad name,.

Im less then thrilled with how that have fixed this situation. The "tech" you ask? Oh he is 22 and graduated high school with me, starting working at for 2 years ago, not saying he isnt very smart but my car was all him and I am less then pleased with it. I dont think I am being pushy, It has less then 10K miles and I cant talk inside the cabin over the motor/road/trans noise.

And the hits keep on coming, today while I was installing my catless x pipe I noticed that the K-Memeber had NO nuts on the bolts, just free floating bolts. I found ONE bolt stuck in the splash guard, the other 3 where gone....

Take the car back to the dealer and demand to speak to the general manager, not the service manager. That is inexcusable. That technician needs to find another line of work.
