Still no car for me. They said they're still working on putting it back together.

I swear, since after almost 2 months in the shop, if it aint exactly perfect, I'm going to scream.

Hey JC 46002003, I wanted to ask, what state do you live in?

Hey sir,

I live in Texas. Austin area.

They're still putting my car back together. They're claiming it will be done late Friday. They said the same thing last week though...

Update for you friends.

They said they were having a little trouble with the 'bank number 1' after putting the engine back in. This info came from customer service, not the dealer. So this could mean anything. Yay for vagueness. Going on 2 months now.

sorry to hear... hopefully ford customer service will rattle the dealers cage a bit- and by rights, I think they should rattle their boss's cage a bit too- Ford coulda just shipped a new motor and had it swapped in a day or two... I wouldnt want a dealer tearing my engine apart- the few experiences ive had have always been bad- with things a lot simpler than tearing down a pretty complex engine that shoulda lasted long beyond warranty...in my opinion, internal failures should be replacement... topend stuff, even a head gasket maybe, but into the shortblock...nah

hope they get you back on the road very soon

Man! You have to get Deysha involved if you have not already. 2 months is totally in acceptable!!

Use my car as an example. 10 days all done, mine has no issues so far.

Thank you for the update, jc46002003. Be sure to speak with your service manager, so he can explain the issues they're running into. Keep me posted.

It’s already escalated, pminri. Thank you for the mention.

Thank you for your support. That's what I thought too and I told the service advisor that every other thread I read is either a shortblock or long block replacement. Why in god's name they went into the engine is beyond me!

I know what you mean, this is pretty ridiculous. The Ford rep for the general area is with me on this one and she said she informed the zone rep yesterday.

I offered to buy a new car, even at a loss, just to get this behind me. We'll see.

Alright, they told me today that my car is ready and "purring like a kitten". I'll be the judge of that!

I'm going to go test it for myself tomorrow and will update you guys. I asked them if they could clean/detail the car and they said they already did that. So that sounds pretty good.

We'll see!!

Very glad to hear it's done! I'm confused though, did your dealership call. Tasca in Rhode Island?

My case has zero to do with any 'Tasca'.

You guys will be the first to know the results. The original dealer who punted me, will be the 2nd, in a firm email
