Never had any use for the computer telling me how to drive. I'm 64 now and I have yet have an accident, other then being rear ended sitting at a light once. When I hit 80 I might need the computer to do my thinking for me but by that time they may have a computer that can change my adult diaper as well. I like the feel of the raw power and as such I will be making tune mods to my 2014 GT/CS. To each his own. By the way I am new here and I love reading the threads keep it up. Did I forget to mention that I was an engineering manager and a plant manager for GM back in the day. I still love the mustang over the Camaro. Love the feel of the car. Thanks guys.
I've been driving for quite a long time also (I'm 51). I don't mind having the electronics available, it's nice it can be defeated for sure. It's full on winter here in Michigan, and the electronics can do things the driver cannot, such as brake individual wheels. When it's absolutely slippery on the roads, the AdvanceTrac system can make it EASIER to do certain things. Having a track pkg (manual trans, actual limited slip), plus Blizzak tires and winter rims gives me more choices. I use ALL of it, often defeating traction control, and sometimes using Sport mode and full defeat. In the summer, it's usually in Sport mode or defeated. It's not a nanny I need, but since it's there I will leverage it at times to relieve myself of needing to do all of the traction effort. Doing mundane driving like stoplight to stoplight, it really doesn't matter much. It's largely a crutch in the summer to compensate for unskilled drivers. In winter months, it's a convenience, but again probably a bandaid for unskilled drivers (who in my opinion are inappropriate if driving a Mustang in the winter). But you can't legislate what kind of car people drive, apart from waiting to catch them with citations and points on their license for doing stupid things.
